Fantasy Zone II, first released for the SEGA Master System in 1987 as a sequel to 1986's Fantasy Zone, is the fan favorite scrolling shooter in which players control a sentient spaceship named Opa-Opa to fight surreal invader enemies. This is a port of the remake of Fantasy Zone II, called Fantasy Zone II DX: The Tears of Opa-Opa.

I respect this game tremendously. M2 thought "what if Fantasy Zone 2 was made on the same hardware as the first game instead of Master System?" and man did they deliver that and more. An incredibly fun shooter and a palpable love letter to a fantastic cute-em-up.
Quite honestly probably the best remake of a videogame ever made. Dead serious.

A very tight (and fairly tough!) horizontal shooter with an ultra-vibrant coat of paint that especially pops on the 3DS hardware. An obvious labor of love, and worth the time of anyone with an appreciation for arcade shooting games. Of particular note is the endless "Link Loop Land" variant, which scratches the NiGHTS into Dreams itch that I didn't realize I had. Delightful.
