Didn't expect Yoko Taro to make a Neptunia-like, but here we are I guess? I originally planned to pass on this because I don't play too many mobile games in general but the whole thing was just so bizarre in both design and execution that I had to give it a shot. Now that I've completed every story campaign (so far) and every event released thus far, I can wholeheartedly say...

its meh. Feels kinda half-cooked in a LOT of ways. Not only are there characters they announced that are just straight up missing (Where the hell is Virtua Cop, Cathode Mappy, and Cathode Dig Dug?!?!?), but also the plot itself is just kind of half baked. The crux of the plot is around arcade games-turned waifus that are basically used to do certain things in society a la mega man robot masters to create a cursed timeline where video game developers rule society with an iron fist, and you gotta stop em and correct the timeline. They don't really do a lot with characterization and each chapter kinda just feels very "enemy of the week"-y if ya catch my drift. There are data logs that you can read to get more insight on the characters personalities but the requirements to actually read all of them are absolutely absurd for each character so I was only able to make it roughly 2/3rds through most of my squad. Some of the characters definitely make clever references to their source arcade games but most of it is surface-level from what I have currently experienced.

The gameplay itself is also kinda meh. You basically create a team of 5 characters with different skills and attributes and either play a kinda braindead shmup or play a sort of idle tactical PvP game. Honestly the latter mode became more interesting over time as there does seem to be a sort of meta to things and there is some depth with team composition in order to consistently win against others. The shmup sections are pretty dull.

You get new characters with a gacha because mobile game and the gacha rates are kinda not great. I was able to get a decent amount of characters in the long run but due to the fact there aren't a lot of characters to pull to begin with so far dupes are extremely common. There was a Ridge Racer event that I spent 12 10-pulls trying to get Ridge Racer and left empty handed. The game definitely wants money but I didn't give it a single cent.

Overall it's strange and aesthetically interesting but mid nonetheless. The character designs kinda grew on me over time, and I can see myself continue to grind and watch number go up every once in a while, or to see what events or new characters will get added in the future. Though I will admit if you don't have access to the japanese app store or don't read japanese you really aren't missing out on much here. I will give this game props for making me actually play through more arcade titles than I normally would so like hey mission accomplished i guess

se eu entendesse a historinha que ta em japones talvez fosse uma nota maior , mas o gameplay de navinha é legal o suficiente pra me manter , e o gacha dele é okey
