El final perfecto para esta saga, todo lo bueno reunido aquí

do not ever want to experience a sex scene written/directed by ben croshaw again. i love him though

After the rather good Trilbys Notes, this is a bit of a misfire of an ending in a very one step forward, two steps back sort of manner. While the game has a great overall narrative and it ties together plot points from the other games very nicely, most notably retconning some parts of '7 days' to make more sense, the game does feel like its more about atmosphere and X-Files confusing shenanigans than actually a story thats wanting you to care about whats going on.

For instance, all the characters are just utterly forgettable with the only things of note being an incredibly awkward sex scene that feels plonked in for shock value and a lot of random murder that feels shocking at first.... but then feels meat-grindery and pointless by the end. The game also has its bad habits still piling up such as using dream sequences for cheap shocks... Again. They dont work anymore.

Theres still some value here, if only to wrap up the series but like a season finale of the X-Files, there still feels like theres stuff unanswered and some of what is answered, isnt very satisfying or meaninful.
