Batman: Return of the Joker was developed and published by Sunsoft as the second in their Batman series on the Nintendo Entertainment System. It departed from the original game by focusing on the comic-book version of Batman instead of the movie-inspired conception. The story itself was self-contained, and did not depict a pre-existing storyline. The game is a side-scrolling platformer with beat 'em up features.

Okay, Batman: Return of the Joker on NES… ugh, I love the concept, right? Joker's back and it's got that cool animated series style. But man those controls are stiff, levels are frustrating, and the difficulty is just brutal! It's got its moments, but honestly, hurts more than it's worth.

This game was good I didn't care much for the way the boss fights worked in this though good game besides boss fights.

Sin duda a sido el batman que mas me ha gustado, todas sus canciones son memorables y se nota que nintendo exprimio al maximo el poder de la Nes con este titulo graficamente hablando. Niveles desafiantes y un diseño de jefes increible aunque un poco faciles.

A decent-ish follow up to Sunsoft's original Batman '89 game.
It looks damn amazing for a late era NES title, the controls are pretty smooth for the most part, and it's short but decently fulfilling. I do have to say tho, the enemy placement can be a damn pain sometimes (I do feel the bigger sprites are partially to blame), and while the early bosses are easy as pie, the later ones can give so little health it borders on infuriating.
Music is amazing at least.

Some fantastic graphics and music are spoiled by very short levels and pitiful bosses. All Bat-flash and literally no Bat-substance.

Well this one was pretty fun!

If you had limited continues, I would think this game would be impossible. But with unlimited continues, I think this game is way easier than the first. The stages for sure were harder, but with a forgiving checkpoint system at the end of each sub-stage, you really just had to get past each one once. And none of the stages ended up being so bad that I couldn't get through them. A few of them felt a bit too hard, but I never died more than 5 or so times on a stage.
Towards the end there were a couple sub-stages that you would have to redo if you game overed on the boss, but I was able to get through them pretty consistently after the first time.

The reason this game is so much easier though is the bosses. The first game's were super hard and unforgiving. But the bosses in this game actually felt really doable. The first few bosses are pretty easy. The last two bosses feel hard at first, but if you learn their attacks/patterns and how to dodge them, they become really consistent. It actually feels like good game design.
... Well, okay, the later bosses have way too much health so it just becomes a bit tedious, but they were definitely doable and it was a breath of fresh air actually feeling like I could beat the bosses.

The controls sometimes felt a bit unresponsive I guess? Sometimes it felt like my shots just wouldn't work if there was a bunch of stuff on-screen, and sometimes my jump inputs felt ignored, especially the the last stage. But for the most part it was fine, and Batman felt much more controllable in this game than the first.

Overall, I enjoyed this a lot! The graphics are great, the music is very good, and it's just a pretty solid game.
