Battlestations: Pacific is a blast if you're into naval combat! You get to control massive battleships, aircraft carriers, even submarines in epic sea battles. Switching between units is fun, and the strategy elements make battles feel tense. It's surprisingly complex though, so be prepared for a learning curve, and the visuals are a little dated now. Still, for those who love WWII history and want a unique RTS experience, it's worth checking out.

The alt-history narrative from Japan's perspective is the only real thing driving the 7/10 on the story.

Overall: 7.5/10 (8)

An improvement over Battlestations: Midway in a lot of ways, though some changes aren't to my taste. Two strong campaigns, with variety in scenarios like submarine attacks, carrier battles, or invasions. Visuals are greatly improved over the first game, and all the extra mechanics really make the game feel more fully featured.

Personally though, I find some of the depth in those systems is lost when compared to the more barebones first game, things like management of aircraft on carriers, or micro-managing damage control for ships. These things are now more accessible, but just feel...barebones in my opinion.

Overall though, this game is superior to it's predecessor, and once again, a fun game to play within a very inaccessible and barren niche of strategy games.

Did not like this one at all. There's some really weird controls (subs are a nightmare to do anything with), some of the objectives are just silly and I found the game to do an overall bad job of explaining how to play it. I was about three-quarters through before I found out how to zoom in and out on the map to make controlling all your units much easier and precise. Not great on a technical level either.
