Blood Wake is a naval combat video game that was released in 2001 on the Xbox as part of Microsoft's initial wave of Xbox launch titles. The game was developed by Stormfront Studios and published by Microsoft Game Studios. Set in an Asian-themed fictional world, Blood Wake is a story-driven, mission-based high seas action game in which the player controls a series of small fighting vessels. Some reviewers described its gameplay as "Twisted Metal on water," although its mission-based story line differentiated Blood Wake from Twisted Metal's arena-based gameplay.

Water physics are pretty impressive for a launch title. Other than that it's a Twisted Metal ripoff where you'll be slamming to a halt and slowly reversing over a repair crate you just barely missed far too often.

All I can say is younger me was pleased they gave Hydro Thunder guns.

Seriously underrated game. Many liken it to Twisted Metal, but it takes more from Crimson Skies than it does that game. Combat is extremely well done and the mission variety is perfectly done. The lack of animated cutscenes is the only major bummer.

I don't know what to say about this game.
