I wanted to like this game but the mechanics were a little over my head at the time.

Me encanta este juego, desde luego jugue al de PC y al ver este dije "mio". Los personajes y el poder hacer las misiones como quieras es impresionante.

don't know what the hell i'm supposed to do, every enemy sees me no matter what

Commandos 2 is a hardcore tactical stealth strategy game about a group of soldiers with each of them offering a specialty in infiltrating enemy camps.

The game takes place during World War 2, the player takes the role of an elite group of commanders, and each level you are presented with a challenge to overcome, the challenge here is not like Call of Duty where you need to kill the enemy to win, but instead it asks the player to think and act creatively and tactically to get past obstructs, infiltrate, steal objects, assassinate targets, overload machines, free hostage.

You can however play as you want, if you think you can take the entire troops of your enemies you are free to try, its harder but its possible to do with proper positioning and tactics, but the more fun route is sneaking, using tools and other means to get through, the game is hard and doesnt pull back, you have to play good to win, and the level design is superb and offers multiple ways to advance.

You can shoot, bait enemies and then knock them out, hide their body, take their suit and send a spy, you can control enemy vision to your advantage, you can put sleeping pills to make enemies fall asleep, you can drink beer, throw knives, throw bombs, ride vehicles, there's a ton of possible ways to play your game and its incredibly entertaining. Shadow Tactics tried to revive this genre with a decent game but fell short in this aspect where it had very little gameplay tools to keep it engaging.

And i have to give credit for the soundtrack because its fantastic, its still a blast to hear till this day, the tracks are the best WW2 tracks i have ever heard.

The game has isometric view where you can rotate and use the camera to view multiple ways throughout a building and navigating is smooth and fluid.

Commandos 2 is definitely one of the best games of its genre and a masterwork of Pyro and Eidos, its a shame we dont see these types of games done anymore.
