Well, at least they gave me a hammer.

Just like Argul's Tomb, all enemies other than the final boss are reskins. A puzzle left me stuck in its room until restarting due to a bug. The final boss is janky as shit. The areas are too big to traverse without horse (you can't summon your horse). Left me sour overall despite nice level design.

“An Abysmal Offering”

Okay, so I HAD to make a pun for the snappiness of it, but this DLC wasn’t “terrible”. It was just really, really poor and redundant! It’s not particularly tied to much from the main campaign, it doesn’t introduce much from a gameplay side of things, there aren’t many rewards you get from its challenges, the boss kind of sucks, and the new dungeon isn’t very memorable. All in all, it's pretty drab and seems like cut content that wasn’t up to par with the rest of the released stuff in the main game.

The focus of this DLC is kind of dull. You apparently have to stop a maker’s (Mad Smith) creation (The Abyssal Forge) from replicating itself and taking over the realm. To get there you engage in a pretty weak dungeon with no new gameplay aspects, and it's a really short and poorly paced ride. The final fight against The Abyssal Forge is really wack, as he’s a six-stage boss and it involves a lot of dodging attacks which snowball into more damage if you’re hit by one of them. There are these new exploding scarab enemies that are irritating to deal with too. The rewards are weaker than my weapons I had coming into the DLC as well, which kind of defeats the purpose of completing it aside from getting a bit more EXP.

I struggle to mention a lot of things that stood out to me with this offering. The visuals were fine, and it was still the same gameplay at the end of the day. But it just felt way worse, almost like something that was cut from the game due to not having enough time/care being put into it. I would Not Recommend playing through this DLC unless you’re trying to grind for EXP - it lacks a real meaning to existing, and mostly serves as some unnecessary padding for a game that already struggles with padding to begin with.

Final Verdict: 3/10 (Poor)
