The one who obtains the Holy Grail will have any wish come true.

The Holy Grail War. A great ritual that materializes the greatest holy artifact, the Holy Grail. There are two conditions to participate in this ritual: to be a magus, and to be a "Master" chosen by the Holy Grail.

There are seven chosen Masters, and seven classes of Servants; beings akin to superhumans with incredible fighting abilities. There is only one Holy Grail. If you wish for a miracle, prove that you are the strongest with your powers.

Emiya Shirou is a high school student who has learned rudimentary magic from his father and uses it to fix objects. He finds himself engaged in the Holy Grail war as he gets attacked by a Servant. As he gets cornered, he somehow summons his own Servant and manages to stay alive long enough to compete against the other Masters.

I am a stickler for good writing like an UTTER stickler. Its why starfield just didnt hit with ne despite liking the graphics and gameplay. This games story tho was actually pretty good. I am of the opinion that most anime stories are poopy but this one shocked me. Well done!

Featuring one of the best dynamics and villains of all time.

I like Kotomine Kirei
Idc that most of the time in the first half is a slice of life, since when that character dies the game is fucking amazing, the last quarter is fucking peak
Also fuck off Nasu for putting Sparks Liner High behind a bad ending, and if I see another food description I'll probably end my life

My expectations were too high because of the movies, it's not bad, by any means, but I remembered it way better than what it is (probably because of the animation of those).
One of the reasons is, almost the whole route plays in Shirou's house, any bit of action that occurs is when a Servant dies.
This isn't too bad...but compared to Saber's and Rin's route it just falls sort. Anyway, this route is pretty wild, Shirou is forced to ignore his ideal (which if you are playing this, you know how important that is to him), they even kill a certain Servant which to this day I can't believe they killed, what happens to Shirou's arm, a multidimensional sword, like dang, if only Sakura wasn't such an awkward villain (I mean, she never wanted what happened to her, so I guess it makes sense).
Also, this route has some Tsukihime paralels, dark story, someone killing people in their dreams, blood sucking, and sex, this one has a lot of sex

One of the worst visual novels yet

i spent the entirety of fate/stay night finding kotomine's default standing sprite extremely funny, so when he showed up out of nowhere at the very end i fucking lost it laughing
