don't like what they did with yotsuyu, even something very similar to fordola's arc they begun in the previous patch would be better
mostly nothing patch, zenos' fascist fucktoy twink feels like a setup for the next one
omega is still great tho

Still not vibing with anything Stormblood related. I'm honestly not sure if this was any good or not because I genuinely just cannot bring myself to care about any of what's happening.

Pretty okay, not bad not good. Watching Tataru start to contemplate whether or not to murder Alphinaud was fun. Nothing super special though.

7/10

I wanna travel to japan and eat Dango after playing this MSQ patch.

I've started developing my squadron and find it interesting. But maybe I can't enjoy it in the long term since it takes time and I need time to level my DRK to 70 in order to play my fav tank in Shadowbringer.

In terms of story, Rise of a New Sun really feels so so weak and I don't have too much to say because of that. Yotsuyu having her memory lost only to become an innocent girl without agency that just loves eating dango is super lame. I generally am not a fan of "the villain lost their memory so now they are with the good guys!" because it's very often used in a lazy manner. This is no different, and I don't have much more to say than that.

That being said, Omega: Sigmascape, subaquatic voyages, musician rehaul, and some dungeons are in here that are nice so it's a win some lose some situation.

As expected, Doma/Yotsuyu's storyline keeps getting worse. If 4.1 was about the Sultana maturing by learning how to get a good deal out of helping refugees, this one is about how a good Yotsuyu is am obedient and childlike Yotsuyu. There is something really dark about her "redemption" being removing all agency from her—mirroring the abuse that made her into the monster from 4.0.

Those considerations aside, 4.2 seems structurally identical to 3.2: preparing the stage for the following patch which will effectively end Stormblood proper.
