Hammerin' Harry and his friends have brought themselves a new house. They stand outside its front gate, watching it shine. They also watch a bomb fly past the house and destroy it. His friends are left devastated, and Harry seeks revenge on those responsible for the bombing. In Ganbare Daiku no Gensan, you must go through five stages (with two areas each), destroying workers that get in your way using your mallet. You can use it to perform two special attacks. One that sends fireballs going in all directions, and a more powerful one that sends shockwaves, destroying everything on screen. At the end of each area, a boss needs to be defeated in order to proceed to the next one.

A fun little game that will take you about 40 minutes or less to play through. Visuals and music are pretty nice!

This is a decent game that will satisfy anyone hungry for more 2D Action games but it's rather bland at times for a Super Famicom game. It's a better sequel to the first then the 2nd game on Famicom was but I'd still rather play that first game. They not only made this one a lot easier but not much about it really amazes me. They also removed that mechanic where you can hold your hammer up or in front of you for some reason.

Tip for anyone wanting to try this, try to look up the cheat for this game that unlocks fighting moves. Why these are locked behind this is beyond me. For some reason one of them is Terry Bogard's Power Wave special attack. It's a short game so you'll beat it pretty quickly but I could see it being replayable. There's just other action games I'd rather play. Give it a shot if you're curious.

sat down and hammered through this in one sitting (harry style). super charming little game that's got some great tunes and very responsive gameplay. love how the jump feels in this, especially when you get the JUMP PANTS powerup (it was in japanese so i dont know what it's called). really neat! can definitely see myself playing through the rest of the series.
