Strong presentation of Tokyo but at what cost? It conveys those strange feelings revolving around the game world's emptiness and the accompained themes but I was not invested enough in story to care about any of its characters. The idea of utilizing magic as guns felt refreshing but it fell short very fast (and after a year later Immortals of Aveum would also fell short with another poor attempt). One of the main reasons for this to become a phenomenon is because how bullet sponge the enemies are. They surely react but compared to Evil Within's meaty enemies it does not satisfy at the peak levels. Exploration is almost meainingless and the exploration loop is incredibly repetitive. You keep getting asked to cleanse Torii gates. They are almost used as a device to tie the missions to increase the longevity of the game. It's a trick that Ubisoft uses by quite a marging and I fucking hate it. Tango, what were trying to do!? As if we were meant to be fucking tourists in a post-apocalypse Tokyo without any tour guide. If you seek high attention to detail to Japanese culture, well, here it goes. But what they add to the game? I reckon nothing.

This game is a huge slog.
The gameplay and controls feel terrible, very sluggish, and is like playing tug of war with 5 dogs at once.
The enemies have insanely high health for this genre of game and it instantly sucks the fun out of it.
The amount of pointless and unnecessary cutscenes is also pretty unbearable.
I can’t recommend this game to many, if any at all.
I ended up just deleting it, no one has time for this shit, or at least I don’t.
Maybe kids will like it, it seems like something I would have enjoyed when I was 11 or 12. I just simply don’t possess the time nor patience to thoroughly enjoy this game the way it wants me to.

Didn't end up being the game I thought/wanted it to be when I saw its initial reveal. However, still enjoyable! Story is painfully average, and the ending is rushed, but Tokyo is cool and throwing magic gang signs to kill enemies is pretty badass.
