Groove on Fight

released on May 01, 1997
by Atlus

The story of this sequel of the series, known as Gouketsuji Ichizoku 3: Groove on Fight in Japan, takes place 20 years after the last Goketsuji tournament. It also has a darker and more serious tone than its predecessors, similar to that of Garou: Mark of the Wolves, but still maintains a little of the same humor that is particular to the series.

I think I came in my trousers this game is pretty cool

I LOVE THIS GAME. This entry in the goketsuji series slaps! I love how the tag system works and the sprites are fluid! Unlike the previous entries where there would be musical numbers accompanying the stage, this game throws that out. The roster is also pretty small but that does not matter when each of your characters a full of charm. Honestly, this game is worth playing once and having a kickass time with it. The OST is also pretty damn good.

Fun Fact this game is refrenced being played by a character in Persona 1!

Character designs are cool, and fighting system has some nice options for striking combos with the tag team system.

what does the title mean? who fucking knows. in an era where capcom and snk fighters were dominating the market atlus decided to make this but only release it in japan 👍. did it sell well? idk i bet it sold like shit but it’s an atlus game so it has to be good right? i don’t play fighting games so idk i bet it plays like shit. my computer struggles to run mednafen so i played this with minimal slowdown but it was pretty alright. it seems that the balancing is a little off though cuz some basic moves can just destroy your whole health bar. the character designs are stylish and the music was good from what i could hear when my computer was able to play it for a few seconds. should you go out of your way to play this like me? no. you could go your whole life without knowing about this game and you would probably still end up middle aged, lonely, and jobless. is this an atlus game? yes. atlus developed and published this video game. the sega saturn had fighting games on it i think. this game is kinda good.

Goddamn, if this is supposed to be middle of the road for fighting games on the Saturn, then I really need to dig into the library immediately. Can make even a fighting dum-dum like me smile, well animated, solid music, et al.
