this one feels a lot closer to the snes game. but on a game boy! that makes this one very good. it's got good vibes. vibes hard to find anywhere else. get this one for vibes.

Still very watered down. The village and wilderness areas are only one screen each (as far as I can tell). Inventory management is better, but it doesn't seem like you can store items you pick up. There's still no marriage.

Pros: More Harvest Moon on Game Boy! New vegetables (such as asparagus, sweet potatoes, and watermelon), new villagers (still no marriage in this one though, oops, but hey, you can walk around town now!), new animals (Sheep from Harvest Moon 64 return), and you can even build a greenhouse to plant your own herbs and flowers, complete with flowerpots and trimming tools! There's even a Video Game console you can get to play minigames on, like Whack-a-Mole, a sliding puzzle, and replays of the Horse Race festival! All-in-all, this is a pretty solid sequel to Harvest Moon GB.

Cons: Still no marriage, the most requested feature missing from GB 1. It's mostly a minor upgrade from that game, nothing too drastic, but still, safe and fun.

What it means to me: I was all aboard the Harvest Moon hype train at this point, I needed every new release, and I needed to complete every new game. The Game Boy Color was on hand at all times, and so was the latest Harvest Moon! 2 was great, loved its box art, wish they'd let ya ride the cows in the game... heh.

A classic of the franchise whose story is to prosper the island's economy to avoid a bad ending that is turning it into an amusement park.
