The Nazis are back - they have survived the war and, led by their supreme leader Weizmann, they have now come up with the most evil and horrific plan in history! Hitler, the man who the allies thought was dead, has been revived and his fractions of hell are about to take over the world once again. The allies decide to send one of their best men, Super Joe, to counter the threat - but he is soon captured and Radd Spencer is dispatched to rescue him and complete the primary mission.

Yeah, pretty dumb 80s B-movie sci fi plot, but this darker sequel to Bionic Commando (the one from the Arcades) has an RPG feel that makes the adventure have this very believable carrying out of plans for an infiltration in enemy grounds, and most of the game playing out like a belic thriller.

You go around neutral zones and jamming neo-nazi's communication devices gathering information to find out where the protagonist of the first game is acting at that instant inside this territory, so you go around following his trail to find and eventually rescuing him, which adds more involvement than just defeating an evil empire like so many retro game plots (even if in most of these you don't end up blowing up resurrected Hitler's face 🤣)

Gameplay wise, like the arcade game, it's also very interesting that they managed to design an ingenious action PLATFORMER where the protagonist CAN'T JUMP.
