Infini

released on Mar 04, 2020

Integrating an outlandish narrative with rigorous mind-bending puzzles, Infini walks a fine line of meditative and chaotic. Standout visuals and concepts are used to create an imaginative and surrealist world where concepts like Poetry, War, Time, and Hope are personified. After being catapulted into Infinity by War, Hope must find his way back to the real world before it begins to suffer from his absence.

It's pretty good. Has the sort of collage-amateur style that is artfully executed seen in a lot of weird games. It plays well with using different perspectives and mechanics with some neat puzzles and an oddball story about different concepts (time, hope, technology) interacting with Hope being trapped in Infinity, which is separate from Reality. It's pretty interesting, with some extras from an outer force you collect to decode messages in a 3D space(with most of the game happening in 2D). It's a hidden gem and typically pretty cheap, with an interesting soundtrack. It does spike in difficulty in the later levels, which on the ones I gave up on it was due to their slow progress that made it difficult to want to continue. But I got quite a bit of time out of it and am happy to have experienced it. I'm a bit on the fence if I'll continue, but I appreciate what I've seen what it does narratively mechanically and in its presentation.

This game will break your mind, not every level is a winner but when they hit they HIT

I was very impressed by just how much of this game I enjoyed! The gameplay is weirdly simple and complicated at the same time and I am not going to try and explain it. I was impressed by how often it was switched up, introducing different mechanics that were actually interesting instead of just adding another obstacle. This game made me think about space in a way that felt incredibly unique, when it was working and when I solved the puzzles by 'working it out' it felt so satisfying! Unfortunately there was a certain point in the game where I just couldn't keep up with it any more, and that was when I bailed out and watched the rest of the bonkers story in a youtube video. Don't regret it at all would play again!
