Mario Bros.

released on Mar 22, 2001

A remake of Mario Bros.

A remake of Mario Bros. is included in every Super Mario Advance game, as well as Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. All of these games can connect to each other to play Classic or Battle mode with up to four players. Classic is based on the co-op mode from the original and uses the Japanese arcade phase system. Battle is based on the Battle Game from Super Mario All-Stars. The remake also uses the GBA's Single-Pak multiplayer feature. It can connect and play with other GBA systems without the game, although Battle is the only multiplayer mode that can be played in this way. The GBA remake of Mario Bros. enhances the graphics to take advantage of the GBA's 32-bit capabilities, including adding backgrounds to the stages. It also adds new movement options and better aerial controls.

A fantastic way to experience the arcade classic Mario Bros. Movement feels tighter, jumps feel better & there's some additional features to spice things up. Back when I livestreamed more often, I loved to just turn this on & chat with folks for a while. Fun game to spend an hour or so with on & off chasing high scores. Just a heads-up, though: it's kinda difficult to go back to the OG after seeing how this version improves things.

Definitive way to play Mario Bros. No seriously, it has a four player mode and greatly improves upon the original. The fact that it is undervalued as a pack-in bonus to a number of Mario ports on the GBA.

Well, since we got this game 5 freaking times (Super Mario Advance from 1 to 4 and M&L Superstar Saga) I think it's safe to dedicate a full stand-alone review/quick thoughts to this game.

What we can say? Well, first of: it's the definitive version of the original arcade Mario Bros.
So if you don't know which version to pick up: go for this. Physics, controls. It's all better here.

It last for what it is: an arcadey old-school experience alright. But damn it the graphics and the gameplay is the best with this version.

reallly didnt enjoy playing this compared to every game it was bundled with but it's not too bad save for the later levels

i get that it was for multiplayer support, but nintendo including this in every mario game for a while there felt like a kid really proud of their school project showing everyone in the family. best part is, it was pretty good.

Best way to play Mario Bros. No joke
