Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code

released on Jul 29, 2010

An expanded game of Melty Blood Actress Again

The Sega RingWide and Windows port of Melty Blood Actress Again, originally for the PS2, updated with new characters, a rebalanced roster and some gameplay tweaks. It is the last game in the original Melty Blood series which follows the events of Tsukihime. Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code is an anime fighter with a strong emphasis on movement and featuring Moon styles, giving each of the 31 characters in the roster three different movesets with differing system mechanics. The Arcade mode has the same story as Actress Again, with the addition of new stories for characters new to Current Code (Powered Ciel and Archetype-Earth), duo characters who were without one (Neco & Mech and Kohaku & Mech), and Riesbyfe Stridberg, who gained an unlockable alternative route.

While I prefer Type Lumina for its presentation and overall game feel, there's nothing quite like old Melty. This game simultaneously feels like it was engineered by a team of FGC scientists and also like it was coded by one Japanese dude over the course of a single night. The movement is absolutely ridiculous; you can basically swim in the air if you want to. Maybe once I get a better grasp on combos I'll run some bathroom tournaments.

Genuinely my favorite fighting game ever

I suck at this game, but is has that damn funny cat girl goblin thing in it, thus it is peak.
(Though the steam port is held together with ducktape and a dream, this thing crashes fairly often, but never enough to be all that annoying)

Watch out the Roa orb is coming
