MotorStorm: Arctic Edge

released on Sep 17, 2009

Motorstorm: Arctic Edge is an arcade racer pitting you against 8 other racers, human or AI in a competition to win in The Festival. The backdrop for the game is Alaska where you have to race on icy tracks in mountainous regions. Beside the other racers you have to take into account avalanches, broken ice bridges and a lot of other dangers on the route to victory. The game is very fast-paced and it sees you racing around in cars, snowmobiles and trucks. You can select different wheels, exhausts, spoilers and more for your vehicles.

Despite being a PSP and Playstation 2 low-fi spinoff, the game's pastel design and environmental interaction honestly makes this one of my favorite games in the Motorstorm series.

Just the best hardcore arcade racing game of its time, with many vehicles and tracks and race modifiers that made the races always feel fresh to a my less critical mind from back in the day.
The graphics maybe dont hold up too well, but the gameplay and concept is simple timeless good time stuff that I will willingly jump into with my siblings or mates.
The music in the game bears mentioning as they really set the mood and added to the tense competitive gameplay
Really fun game from its time and I would still recommend it to this day !

Played this on the PSP, the level design is great, but the maps all look alike, the physics is a bit janky, and the whole destruction thing is less impressive than in a Burnout or a FlatOut game. The soundtrack is amazing. Overall it's a fun game, but not a great one.

Fuck you Sony, for making that stupid ass remote control Vita game, instead of porting this masterpiece of absolute destruction.

O jogo de corrida mas subestimado da história
