You pretty much need to play using a controller since the M + K barely works and if you want to make any form of progression just buy the "Item booster" dlc. Make sure you equip and level up the vtuber cubes, they're the main way you can actually deal any damage and make the game somewhat playable so you don't spend 2 minutes fighting enemies that are 20 levels higher.

Once you're properly levelled and upgraded this doesn't feel AS garbage but it's still probably the worst game in the whole series.

It took me until today to actually finish this and I bought the limited edition version on release.

Unless you're a big Vtuber fan (Which I'm not)
Or a massive Neptunia fan (Which I am)

I straight up wouldn't bother playing this one, but at least it's short....

i swear to god Neptunia's a great franchise please don't play this one.

A neptunia game sucks, shocker. That being said, they're usually just okay enough for me to enjoy the cute girls at least but not this time. Virtual Stars plays like crap, there's no nice way to put it. Enemies are damage sponges and the combat is completely unenjoyable and repetitive. The setup for the story just feels cringe with how obviously they're trying to cash in on the vtuber trend. I actually like vtubers but their implementation in this game is awful since for the most part they're just loading screen ads. The lack of a dub is pretty disappointing since I prefer the english nep voices but with all the vtubers in the game it's understandable. The new original girls they added are pretty cute so it's a shame they didn't get a game that's at least serviceable like neptunia U.

Neptunia used to be good I promise.

Neptunia games have been on a sharp decline for years and years and this may be the final nail in the coffin. Boring forgettable story, barely functional gameplay. Littered with technical and performance issues. Two combat styles but you'll spend the whole game in one of them because the other is objectively worse in every way. Not a single reason to play this game, even fans should skip it.

Not just the worst Neptunia game I've played, but one of the worst games I've ever played, period.
