Ramiel

released on Aug 06, 2021

Ramiel is a short game about wings, hope, and living in a body that is very clearly not your own. It's a game for the angels in our lives who just can't bear living without their wings any longer. One day, we will all find our wings.

it's so so so comforting, to be able to bask for a couple of minutes in the softness of a game about gender dysphoria, plurality, angels, and being violently trans and queer.

when i woke up after my sweet fledgling had died, i felt like an imposter, a saboteur in the body that was supposed to be mine. it feels like a blessing, then, to witness the way the characters move around, carefully arranging their wings—the way the angel slowly starts coming to terms with their body, carefully molding it into a home. the trans imagery is so beautiful, managing to create a safe space for creatures like us.

one of my comfort games, to be sure. i'll make sure to take care of my wings from now on, too.

Beautifully written and very touching short IF/VN about being plural, being trans, and having a body that doesn't always feel like it's your own.
