It is a short DLC but with a nice story about Moira's side, which reveals that she isn't dead after all. We also get to know a bit better about the old man from Episode 3's sewers.

The timed challenges were fun, and about the wave ones, I just disliked the last one until I got the hang of where the monsters spawned. Hunting animals to fill the bags with meat, just so we can have "lives" to retry the missions, was a nice touch, in my opinion.

Annoying in places and very sparce ammo near the end. Make sure you equip the magnum when you find it.

maybe the second worst RE content of all time

A shitty bonus mode disguised as a story extension. The possibility for something good is here - not only just with the new ration system and inclusion of a mysterious character from the base game, but in how it sells itself tying up one of the biggest loose ends from its story. It doesn't really do that in a sufficient way, sadly - instead you get cheap black screen voiceovers, forced banter, MORE combat spam of enemies that weren't even fun to fight in the base, and a broken stealth section. And the little father-daughter plotline this re-introduces here was one of the more plaintive segments of the main game despite only being told through readables, this just sort of devalues it (and throws in a clichéd cop-out of an ending for good measure). Resident Evil in name only, the series has never felt farther from its roots than here - at least 5 had gonzo Wesker, this doesn't even have a normal difficulty lmao.

The Struggle is like Desperate Escape but without being brutally unfun. It does struggle with difficulty balancing, however, as it lacks a normal mode, with casual being completely trivially easy and survival being beyond annoying. It has a few interesting mechanics, such as needing to hunt animals for continues, represented by food, but otherwise, it's just a trek through familiar levels and locations. It's not particularly interesting otherwise and it feels like filler content. I do like how it fills in some blanks in Revelations 2's story, such as what happened to Evgeny Rebic and how Moira learned to become competent with firearms by the end of the game. Evgeny and Moira have a fun dynamic, one of Revelations 2's writing strengths, and while "young adult versus old man" is not particularly original it is entertaining here. I wouldn't buy this one on its own, but if you already have the complete collection it's worth a go at least since it's less than an hour long.

The Struggle is right. For some reason, this extra episode only has "Casual" and "Survival" difficulties, no Normal. I played on Survival in co-op and it honestly was pretty tough (mostly due to scarce ammunition), but we managed through and even got an S Rank on a blind run. Not much to say for the story though. it helps fill some blanks when it comes to Moira's development in the campaign so it's nice but nothing amazing. Was a pretty fun, if tense, 45 minutes.
