Savage Halloween is a retro nes inspired 2D platform shooter. It's heavily halloween inspired, obviously. It's a pretty standard shooter all things considered. Collectible weapons all shoot out different ghouls or ghosts. I would have liked to seen a bit more varity honestly. The standard gun and spread shot are really the only useful options. Maybe if the ammo was more limited it could have been better but there's ammo a plenty and outside of the hardcore mode the game is very easy. The game just doesn't do enough with the premise or theme to be super memorable but I only picked this one up for a whopping 99 cents. For that it was an absolute bargain. Surely worth a single playthrough during spooky season but not much more than that. This is the very definition of a 5/10 game to me.

Quality game with good visuals, music, and gameplay, but the controls and difficulty dragged it down for me.
