Something has gone seriously wrong in Klayman's homeland -- Klogg, an evil megalomaniac, wants to destroy the land and basically rule over anything and everyone. Because the task can get difficult at times, he has enlisted the service of fearsome ape-like creatures, Skullmonkeys, to aid in the destruction of planet Idznak. Needless to say, it is up to the player to stop Klogg and his devious plans. Much like The Neverhood, Skullmonkeys is a 2D platformer built entirely of Claymation characters, enemies, and environments. Throughout the game's seven worlds spanning ninety levels, the basic objective of each is to destroy as many Skullmonkeys as possible. Destroying the simians can be done one of two ways: firing projectile weapons or butt-bouncing off their heads.

This is definitely one of the best 2D platformers on the Playstation. It's got those Donkey Kong Country style graphics, which is cool, and there's a lot of creativity with the characters and enviornments you encounter. The gameplay isn't super exciting but it's pretty good. Skullmonkeys is just a cool journey to go through overall.

Man, this game needs a remake or some shite
or hell EA give the rights back to Dougie.

The words "universe" and "enema" should have restraining orders on each other.

A simple but not too challenging platformer. Recently took the time to actually beat the game.

This was a viewer request to play on stream and I can certainly see why! It was a pretty unforgettable experience not only from a gameplay, but mostly from the visual aspect as well with it's humour and how the cut scenes are done!

The game itself took the interesting choice of being all claymation in regards to both the fully animiated cut scenes and the gameplay too!

In regards to gameplay, this game isn't for the faint-hearted. It's a hard-as-balls platformer where you die in only 1 hit, so you better be careful! You can get power ups, even one that gives you a hamster that spins around you and instantly destroys the enemies you come across for the limited time he lasts.

The story continues from another game I've never played, where the main character had defeated the villain and sent him away from the Neverhood, but, he crashed on the planet of the Skullmonkeys and then convinced them to work for him whilst he creates a machine to destroy your character and the entire of the Neverhood!

If you're looking for a challenging and hilarious video game you should certainly check this one out.
