First Sonic game in 3d. It's not really a transition of the classic games into 3d, the spamdash kinda breaks the movement and I don't like it. There's less emphasis on physics due to the limited hardware of the dreamcast. Sonic's story is fine in terms of gameplay, the level desing is less complex than the 2d games but it can be fun to break the levels with the spindash. In terms of actual story, nothing happens in Sonic's one. Tail's story is Sonic's one again, which is repetitive but at least you get actual good story here, although the ugly cutscenes kinda don't help that much. Knuckles' story is really fun and I love it, in terms of story it seems like they had an start and an ending but the journey isn't quite there. Amy's story is good in gameplay and story, this is the best use and characterization of Amy in a Sonic game story. Gamma's gamplay is alright, kinda boring tho, the story is amazing, one of the best sonic stories. Big is big, i like him, he shouldn't have been in the game. The final with Sonic not defeating Chaos but helping him trough his anger is really good, also a good final fight. If you're goin to play this game on pc, mod the hell out of it to make it remotely playable, fuck dx.

I love how every modern port of this game is based of the previous release of this port

despite playing the literal worst version of it, I had a wonderful time.
