Sonic Rush

released on Nov 15, 2005

Sonic the Hedgehog has a new partner, Blaze the Cat, in this fast-paced platformer, Sonic Rush. You can play as either Sonic or Blaze as you try to track down powerful Sol emeralds. Sonic Rush displays the level over both screens, allowing for screen-spanning jumps and dives. Some gameplay modes include stylus support as well. Designed as a 2.5D side-scroller, Sonic Rush is the first game in the Sonic series to explore both 2D and 3D venues by combining two-dimensional environments with three-dimensional models. In 2007, the game received a sequel, Sonic Rush Adventure.

top 3 2d sonic games idc if its carried by the ost or not i love the boost mechanic

Normally, for whatever reason, 2D Sonic just doesn't click with me as well as 3D Sonic does, but this is definitely one of the exceptions. I can have plenty of fun with Rush. Boost mechanic feels good, the soundtrack has no business slapping as hard as it does & overall it's very satisfying, fast-paced Sonic fare. Probably some of my favorite 2D Sonic boss fights too.

THE best special stages in the series, bar none.

"I'M FEELIN' HUNGRRRYYY! FOR SOME BROWNIES! ROUNDANDROUNDANDROUNDANDROU-" The lyrics for Bomber Barbara probably.

My first ever Sonic game. It still has everything I'd ever need from a Sonic game. Fast-paced platforming, tricks, the introduction to Blaze, and a solid roster of Boss battles. This spiritual follow up to the Advance Trilogy. Best part, the soundtrack is championed by none other than the Funky Uncle himself, Hideki Naganuma! Like it successors, the first of the Rush trilogy is an underrated gem of Sega's speedy mascot.
