Star Wars is a conversion of Atari Games' first-person shoot 'em up based around the original Star Wars film. You take on the role of Luke Skywalker, aiming to destroy the Death Star - which, as any fan knows, involves attacking the 'weak spot' near the exhaust. To even get to this you have to pass swarms of TIE Fighters. Complete the game and it loops back around at ever-increasing difficulty. The game uses vector graphics, which allow lots of action at high speed on comparatively slow systems.

After years of (unlicensed) attempts at re-creating the trench run, this is the first game to do it properly. The music, sound effects, sense of speed, vector graphics, and approach towards the Death Star are all done really well, and then loop back to the start in a very natural way.
ea can kick my hairy ass this is the better star wars game
Had a fun time playing this. I was trying to place myself into the shoes of someone playing this for the first time when it came out. I'm imagining being a kid and watching Star Wars and just eagerly waiting for an official Star Wars video game after spending so much time playing all the imitation games trying to capitalize on the success of the movie, but without the actual license. While I was playing the DOS version, I would love to get a chance to play the arcade version some day. Being able to sit down in the cabinet would be the perfect time machine for the 80's. The DOS version was still fun, but I imagine the arcade version being equivalent to a thrill ride.

Juego 64: Star Wars (1983)
Si quitas la música (que creo que, en un juego de Star Wars, es algo obligatorio), el juego podría ser de cualquier cosa. Creo que lo habría disfrutado bastante más con controles de arcade.

played at a video game museum. Probably my favorite arcade game
Same exact thing as the Atari console version, just a little bit better. There's basically no way to play this now though, so that's kinda a bummer. I got nothing else to say lol. You're only able to play the Atari console version through emulators these days.
