this is what speedrunners have wet dreams about

As far as 3D platforming mechanics go, it's hard to get much better than Super Sami Roll.

While the presentation and music aren't anything super special / avant-garde, although the game is adorable and allows for customization to be even more so, it's the level design and controls that make this one so fun to play. While I spent the first hour or two yelling at the game, by the end, I was zooming through maps and going for every shortcut I could possibly think of.

If you like 3D platformers, and don't mind a bit of challenge, Super Sami Roll is a great way to spend a few hours.

gave it a shot but yeah this aint for me. basically all of those games designed with "speedrun brain" shit in mind (ultrakill, pizza tower, neon white, etc.) are not fun or interesting to me in any way so this is just another for the pile. nothing really wrong with it (besides looking really ugly) but its not something i could see myself coming back to ever

This shit is hard to core. 3-D platformers are normally way easier then their 2-D counterparts, but Sami doesn't pull punches. You are on a strict time limit with annoying precise ball physics which make me wanna rage but it allows for such freedom to cheese that you'll bounce between being stuck on a level for hours to finding a short cut which skips 80% of another level. The second playable character works as all good alt characters should she opens up just as much brand new cheese as other levels are made harder due to her new moveset.

I have a love/hate relationship with this game. The movement is incredible and very freeing. It really excels at what it sets out to do and there are times when the game really works. However, some of the levels were just so frustrating. There were times I would spend nearly an hour on just one or two levels, which really killed the pace. I am really impressed with this game, but also find it just too much sometimes.
