A rogue-lite card builder RPG game that has a bunch of different classes and abilities that can be collected per playthrough. Set in a time of the Arthurian legend, you are in a land covered in "Wyrd", that has monsters and characters from different places and times. It takes some amount of play to get accustomed to how combat works best and unlocking the most valuable cards. By the time I unlocked the true boss, I had unlocked a card that gave me a hit for 5000% damage, that I could use after stripping down armor and killing a boss in a single hit.

A very well put-together card based rogue-like. Set in a dark twisted King Arthur and the Round Table timeline, you're tasked with adventuring through the Wyrdwood to find answers to the corruption. You do this by selecting one of the nine classes and making your way through combat encounters akin to Slay the Spire.

However, I enjoyed the more realistic and grotesque art-style Tainted Grail has compared to Slay the Spire. I also think the narrator does an amazing job in this game and all of the story beats and encounters are very well written.

If you're familiar with and enjoy Slay the Spire, this is an easy recommendation. The systems and elements Tainted Grail makes unique are all improvements to me. The classes feel good, archetypes vary and most can power through on high difficulties. Definitely one of the better rogue-like like card games I've enjoyed.

The first 2 hours was really a banger looking like an improved version of Slay the Spire with amazing music and voiced storytelling. However after that the game slowly loses its charm to me as the deck building chemistry isn't as exciting as it was in the first run through. The difficulty curve is also messed up, enemies are either too easy or too hard. The UI is also badly optimised for those summoner classes. I still really liked the game as I'm a fan of the genre and I can see the dev is definitely putting their effort and ideas into this game. I just wish it could've lived up to its potential.

Gameplay appears to be largely a copy of "Slay the Spire," but with gloomy 3d graphics that make it hard to see what is going on and, generally, ugly characters and creatures.
