The Firemen is one of the most underrated hidden gems on the SNES. The premise is simple. A building is on fire, and you play as a fireman putting out the fire and rescuing any entrapped civilians. The charm of the game is that it feels like a clear homage to Die Hard. It's a fast pace thrilling action game (where you're fighting fire instead of people) that takes place in a commercial tower during Christmas. The die hard influence oozes out of this game. The gameplay is what you would expect from a fire fighting game. You use a hose that has two different modes for different fires and the ability to duck/crawl. As you climb this tower the action really is non stop and there is a boss fight for each floor. The fireman is short, it can take roughly 2 hours to beat, but it is highly repayable as you can get scored on your performance and the gameplay is very skill based. Highly recommended.
