I didn't really like it. The character art and sprites are nice, but I find the controls really weird, and some spell cards very annoying for a beginner.

Pretty much all a Touhou fighting game needs to be. Fun and expressive sprites, interesting character interactions and dialogue, and plenty of creative bullet related attacks. Suika is a really fun new addition too. That being said, the story mode bosses spell card phases just spam repetitive and occasionally unfair attacks which can be really annoying. Not all characters are created equal, either— for some reason Youmu is the only character who primarily relies on melee. Still a fun, cute fighting game for Touhou fans though. If you had a friend who also enjoyed Touhou that would play it with you I imagine it would be a lot more gratifying than playing against AI.

Characters in this game beat each other up for no particular reason

Fun game that's pretty easy to play for a beginner (as far as fighting games go). The way the spell card system is implemented in story mode is really cool, even if a few of the CPUs get a bit spammy with them.

Also Pandemonium is a really cool final attack. Destroying the UI and leaving the player not knowing how much health Suika has left as they slowly chip away at her health makes the last part of the fight really tense.
