Warframe

released on Mar 25, 2013

Warframe situates players as members of the Tenno race, newly awoken after years of cryo-sleep into a solar system at war. Reborn into a corrupt era, the Tenno are sought by the oppressive Grineer Empire for annihilation. Warframe armor is the key to overthrowing the Grineer by providing players with unique offensive and defensive powers to explore, upgrade and master during purpose-driven radical raids.

3☆ - This is my dead honest review. I may clown on this game, call it garbage, and actively despise it, but credit where credit is due, the visuals, soundtrack, movement and combat mechanics, and story, are incredible. The grindiness really restricts my ability to like it, but the creative aspects of this game are honestly unmatched in free games.

I'm not a fan of "yeah bro just play 1k hours and then the game gets good" games and Warframe is no different. Layers and layers of mechanics that are covered by layers and layers of more mechanics. There is simply too much going on in Warframe which is not an inherently bad thing but the presentation makes it overwhelming.

Warframe has the worst "walls" i've experienced in a game. I pretty much was trapped in a cycle of "must complete X quest in order to farm 4000 materials to create Y part that is 12 hours to create so i can forge Z equipment that still need 3 days to finish just to play the next quest" or "farm 20 different types of lootboxes and then open them to get absolutley nothing of value unless you hit the jackpot and get what you actually want. Oh, and for one piece of equipment, you need to hit 4 jackpots, and then, farm a whole bunch of materials and THEN wait 4 MORE days."

I think that the only thing that makes this game bearable is the fact that the market is available and trading is a mechanic in this game. Having a clan, some friends to play, and trading are key if you are trying to enjoy the excellent worldbuilding that Warframe offers.

Warframe has some of the most unique design of not only games but all media, in a very bio mechanic, disgusting (but still aesthetically pleasing!) way. I would say that the story and the visuals keep me playing this game but tbh i'm a minmaxing dumbass that loves theorycrafting and classbuilding, and the mod system scratches that itch.

What they're trying to do with Warframe is really ambitious and I respect that, but I can't say I was having fun or even knew what was going on 100% of the time I spent with it.

Fujam, não instalem, a gente só tem uma vida.
