The incredible saga of Wizards and Warriors continues. As Kuros you'll enter the dreaded Fortress of Fear in your pursuit of the Evil Wizard, Malkil. Hundreds of enemy encounters await you. Deadly bats and other flying beasts attack from above. Scorching fireballs and arrows speed toward you. And skin crawling spiders and undead skeletons appear from the darkness. Defeat them all! Only those with the blackest of hearts dwell among the 18 levels of challenging game play. But the rewards are great, riches beyond belief, keys to long lost treasure and magic spells and potions. And what better reward could you seek than a final encounter with the Evil Wizard Malkil himself? Beware, Kuros. Others have journeyed into the Fortress of Fear, but none have returned alive.

The difficulty of this game ruined any fun I had with a Gameboy during my childhood. Catchy theme, though

Someone actually played Wizards and Warriors and then said “yeah but I bet I can make one even WORSE.” Unbelievable

This could very well be the first video game I ever played, when I was about six years old. It was a favorite of my dad's when he was in law school. He would draw me maps of the levels which I would study closely, but my coordination wasn't quite there yet to finish the game. Despite its many flaws I'll always view it nostalgically as an excellent fantasy adventure.

When I was a kid I could never get past level 1 in this game so, it was fun to finally get to the end. The game is pretty impressive feeling and looking on gameboy. That being said it’s difficulty is pretty unfair in a lot of ways. Definitely the kind of game where a youtuber in 2012 would have made a video complaining about the lack of saves and the fact that this is chapter X and there was never a chapter iii-ix in this series. It’s still kind of charming tho

A piss poor action platformer. There's fall damage in this game, and it's pretty inconsistent, I can just walk off a ledge and fall a small distance, and somehow take damage, and sometimes not, which doesn't make any sense and it's very annoying in general. There's practically no I-frames and the enemies will drain your health fast, and you will die from quick enemies that assault you from offscreen like bats. The screen is tiny, but the sprites are large, creating screen crunch and a lot of trial and error. There are no continues, and the soundtrack is repetitive, making for a mind numbing experience. Best to avoid this.
