Putting these proof-of-concept demos out there is actually really cool but if companies do this in the future the people who toiled away on it should be properly credited.

In my rating model 2 stars is a game that I do not recommend playing nor avoid, and that's because there's not much into It... It's a prototype after all

Hard to rate a Prototype but honestly I wish we could have gotten this over beast riders LOL.

There was something here that honestly could have formed into a nice little game but I guess we will never know. I would say play it since its free and is literally like 4 minutes but I don't think you are able to download this game anymore at least through steam.

Either way its a cool piece of gaming history that was lost up until this point. I had fun with it !

Leuk deel uit de geschiedenis, alleen niet zo leuk om te spelen. Is duidelijk merkbaar een prototype van een onafgemaakte game.

As a game, absolutely nothing to this aside from what appears to be half a level without a boss. As a neat little look at a proof of concept demo? This was really cool. It's free and still available with some browsing around, but just a really really neat thing that Sega released for it's 60th anniversary. Don't go in expecting much, leave with the dreading fear that Golden Axe may never come back, and a peak of what the gaming industry is like.

Just a quick vertical slice used to pitch a rejected Golden Axe revival. No rating since there's enough to get a sense for gameflow, but not the soul of what the game might've been with more dev time. Yeah, I could say that there's basically nothing to distinguish it from any other hack-and-slash in the couple minutes of gameplay we see here, but then that makes it on-par with what I think of Golden Axe overall, so...

I honestly think releasing vertical slices is a really cool idea, and it'd lend itself to a lot of visibility to how games get developed. I'm not completely on board with how this was done. Much was made about the Steam description and the team not being informed of the release, but I'll also add that "Golden Axed" as a name is a bit mean-spirited, cute and snappy as it is. Still, it'd be a shame if we never saw something like this again.

I didn't find it particularly fun to play and is thus not surprised they cancelled it. But I am grateful that it's playable in prototype form just to see what could have been.

I don't want to say anything harsh about it since it is a prototype and one being given for free.
I say it's worth a play for the sake of seeing what could've been the foundation for a fun modern Golden Axe game.
