I enjoyed it back during the first two weeks this game came out. Here's a phrase I've used maybe 6 or so times to describe this game: "It's kinda like those old 2D Unreal Tournament flash games"

It's solid, I can see why a bunch of people disliked this but the way I see it, it's not trying to be Worms. It's an arena shooter using Worms for its presentation. Don't play it knowing full well it's not a conventional Worms game and then bitch that its not Armageddon again.

Has it's fair share of cheesey strats and the game is virtually dead now. Crossplay exists but chances are you're playing with a Brazilian who got the game for free on PS+ back when it launched and hasn't been able to afford another game so they alternate between this and Fort. So yea, you'll get some very obvious player desync. A less than savory experience to play currently, but I will say that I enjoyed it during it's (very shortlived) peak.

Always loved Worms games so although I disliked the look of this one, I wanted to give it a fair chance.

Customisation of the worms is really good as usual.
The game looks great.
The music is brilliant.

The gameplay just isn't my thing. It's not terrible, I'm sure loads of people have a lot of fun with it.
I just found it way too hectic and navigating the maps while trying to aim and shoot felt completely chaotic and quite frustrating.
I also found myself lost a lot and not being able to even find opposing players, that might be more to do with the fact I didn't learn the maps though.

Probably a really fun game but just not for me. I'd love if they made a new game with these visuals and classic Worms gameplay though.

This is the worms game I wanted as a kid. It's hard to explain but as a kid who wasn't allowed to have games with guns in them I always got away buying the worms games because of the cartoony nature. But in my little mind I always wanted it to be real time instead of turn based and honestly this brought me back. I got this as the free game of the month on the PS5 and its so funny that the game they gave away is unironically the equivalent of early XBLA game progression and all, and that was honestly part of the charm. It was just a regular old deathmatch of the mid 2000s era it rocked like I'm not sitting here thinking it's a masterpiece but this made me so like nostalgic of the 360 era and my early days with turn based worms game. All the weapons played like I wanted, I loved dressing up my worm and giving him the German accent just like I did 20 years ago, there's a holy hand grenade and a sheep bomb. It's fucking worms and that's all it had to be for me, wish there was more of a community (It's already difficult to get a game a few months after launch) which is why I'm putting it down but was such a fun little side game I can't help but have a soft spot for.
