the story of this game if you play multiple routes is probably fascinating but i could only muster the desire to play through 1 (church route, whoops) and it sucked and the monastery is sooooo egregiously boring and intrusive.

I like this game but i think i soft locked myself bc i spent too much time drinking tea :(

Greatest Game of all time. I love it with every fiber of my being

There's a lot to unpack but I enjoyed this game despite not gelling with a few mechanical and stylistic choices of the game. The setting of the game is a highlight, with the "calendar" system reminding me of Persona 5 in the best ways. The choices of exploring the academy or getting into battles helped the game pacing for me a lot.

The "anime-style" writing does not appeal to me, but the characters are well-written! I enjoyed learning about how everyone has daddy-issues. The interactions between characters was a personal highlight despite the support scenes almost dragging at times. More context of the lore/setting would have helped me better situate the contexts for these characters and the stakes of personal and overarching conflicts. If I have the only character from Duscur, give me everything about the Tragedy of Duscur. Put colors on the map to indicate who controls what parts of the continent PLEASE.

Mechanically the game was great as an introduction (or reintroduction) to tactics style games. The tactics side of Three Houses was at its best when it gave me interesting scenarios or maps with interesting terrain features. But those scenarios were few. An explanation of the classes or stats would have helped me out a lot. I realized too late in the game that I should have focused on more than one or two skills if I wanted my characters to all be one of the Master classes. Gave me the classic XCOM "oh no I messed up 20 turns ago" feeling, which I don't like when it comes to teaching the students.

I did like the interpersonal conflicts focused on in the Blue Lions campaign. Seeing how class interacted with each other given they'd grown up with each other was a fun. The complexity of their relationships is impressive, kudos to the writers. I do wish I had more context within the lore of the world, because it was hard for me to feel the weight of the personal conflicts the characters dealt with. Dimitri and Edelgard's relationship is interesting and complex, but it's hard to situate that conflict within the world-setting given how little world lore they gave me.

It's a delight of a game, and there are emotional highs that'll stick with me for along time. Kudos to the devs for making a delightful game I stumbled through.

Best game ever released. Looking forward to find another perfect game like this one. 10/10. Played 400 hours and would play another 1000h.

this was my first fire emblem game and honestly i hated it. I hate replaying this. I hate multiple endings. I hate the leveling system. I hate time management in a school setting. Get away from me

The Apex of the tactical role playing strategy genre.
Three Houses was my very first Fire Emblem game, and surprisingly, it's very beginner friendly, the gameplay itself is smooth, simple and straight to the point, and the overall difficulty is quite easy. As for the combat mechanics, they're very well made, everything works as intended, overall it's a blast.

The social simulation aspect is very enjoyable, I really liked exploring the Garreg Mach Monastery, bonding with the characters, doing side activities and interacting with the things around me. It does get slightly repetitive after a while though, because the amount of things you can do are limited, but it never really bothered me.

I also want to point out the fact that the music is great, Japanese Role Playing games usually tend to have an exceptional soundtrack and this game is no different, especially when it comes to the battle themes.

The story is pretty good, but the pacing is questionable, some plot points are solved very quickly, which results in confusion. The lore is intriguing and deep, every House has a different story to tell, you will meet new characters and learn more things about the world.

The characters are cool, every single one of them is likeable and they all have their own little personalities and quirks. You can also recruit some of them in your team, and even change their class to make them play however you please, which I really appreciated.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is a fascinating game, it's enjoyable from start to finish even with the pacing issues, and I genuinely had a phenomenal time playing it. I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to get into the series, even if you've never played a Fire Emblem game before, this is the best place to start, probably the best strategy game I've ever played.

Final Rating: "Amazing" ~ 9/10.

This game changed something in me in 2019

Having played the Awakening onward titles as they've come out, something about this game just sparked a wholesome love for the series that has me longing for more titles and i hopefully one day get to go back and play the rest of the series

Tempest of Seasons is the best track in the game btw

I was really into it but then I put it down for too long and couldn't get back into it.

Silver Snow Route

I'm bumping the score back up to a 9, it's still a masterpiece. This might be my least favourite route, though, which sucks because the Black Eagles are my favourite characters--not a single bad character. Also the final boss is easily the weakest. Apart from that, it's still lots of fun and very good and yup.

Mfw i don't kill every last one of them.

I get that a lot of people love this game, but I just could not bring myself to like it.

Good story with great characters. The customization is good for diversifying your team.

The multiple routes are pretty annoying for replays as you have to do the pre-time skip every single time.

Not only that, the game is long so you have to invest over 40 hours just to experience all of the story which is absurd even for RPGs.

I didn't like it for many reasons, the main ones being its low difficulty level and the predictable plot. The school parts were boring

Shamir is my favorite Fire Emblem character, she's fun

This game is like an ex I keep coming back to, when it came out it lived rent free in my head for like 2 years after the fact. I can go on and on about how much stuff I liked in this game but honestly playing it today, I’d prefer most other FE titles cause damn the gameplay is grating

This game does the interesting thing where they nab elements of persona to blend into the fire emblem formula. The story was okay over all and I loved the variety of students and their interactions, including between each other; you just have to keep in the back of your mind that the protagonist is lowkey Grooming these kids both for battle and one to be your love interest. Points for finally including some same sex couples, but you could have done more you fucking cowards.
