It's basically the jack of all trades of games. Wanna play dodgeball? There's a gamemode for it. Want to play murder mystery? Sure, why not. Want to load up a random sandbox map and then nuke it so hard you crash your friend's computer? Yeah, you can do that.
It's got some age to it, but don't let that deter you from playing it. It holds up really well and the experiences you can get in gmod are easily unique. For better or for worse lol.

If it were today, I would give the game maybe two stars, but taking it all together, this game was incredible, anyone who played it at the time knows, firstly, it was an extremely fun sandbox, with lots of mechanics to discover and stupid things to do. , like 'who can build the best wooden car', and the different games it had inside, TTT, hide n seek, Murderer... simply legendary, whoever bought Garry's Mod at its peak, and played it, felt that every money spent it was useful.
I got into Garry's Mod on Nov 28, 2014. At the time, I didn't really play much PC games other than a few flash games and Roblox. I first found Garry's Mod from a Youtuber called VenturianTale, I thought the game looked amazing with all the differnet kinds a gamemodes and addons. I found out soon after the to play Garry's Mod you needed Steam so after a few missteps and some help from my parents, my account was created on September 29th of 2014.
Even though alot of people who play Garry's Mod can be toxic alot of the community is friendly with open arms. The amount of gamemode and addons are crazy so you can never run out of mods which creates endless fun and creativity. Garry's Mod has a little bit of something for everyone and that's why I was so drawn to the game. The gamemodes I remember very fondly of is Sandbox, DarkRP, Prophunt, Gmod Tower, and TTT. Because of access to so many models and maps early Garry's Mod had a big Machinima scene which I threw my hat in the ring a few times as well.
Overall Garry's Mod is an amazing sandbox games which has gave me and thousands of others great memories. I absolutely recommend this game.
100/5

A stupid and wacky sandbox experience with so much customisability and workshop mods that you can make an entire game out of this one and have a completely customisable experience to your liking.
The game falters in understandability a little, giving you everything all at once and it can get really overwhelming, like being forced to defuse a nuke that has thousands of wires inside. Definitely best played with friends and I haven't tried any online multiplayer outside of friends yet but I bet that would be fun too
