> ENGLISH:
In a world where everyone sees only black and white, your mother, with much study and the help of Dr. Grey, created the colors and the perception of being able to see a world in other colors. Your mother leaves letters telling the story little by little until she accomplishes such a feat. (We pick them up as we progress through the game).

"Hue" is a puzzle game with the protagonist controlling the colors in their "inventory". You unlock them as you progress through the levels and worlds. At first, it's quite simple, more for you to get the hang of it, like: Switch to the purple color to be able to pass through the purple wall. As it progresses, it becomes a bit more complicated, but still quite accessible.

I find it somewhat curious that we unlock all the colors before reaching 2/3 of the way through, not that it's a bad thing, but I think they could be more evenly distributed. I also know that if it were so, unlocking the remaining collectibles would be tedious, but oh well.
How many times did I select yellow instead of orange... There were so many phases where I was almost at the door, it was just a matter of selecting the orange color, but with the strange color palette of this game, I always ended up confusing them. And I think that over 90% of my deaths were due to "yellow vs. orange."

When we pick up a letter, it's always quite boring because we're stuck in a scenario that has absolutely nothing (some have collectibles). Basically, we're just there to see the letter, even though it tells the story of the game. In itself, the story isn't engaging, so it doesn't really matter.

It's well below average, it's not like I'd want to replay it in a few years. I would say it lives up to what it promises to be "a puzzle game with color control mechanics," but it's not very exciting and not particularly admirable for players who have played many puzzle/platform games.

I liked this phrase here at the end of the game, so I'd like to leave it recorded here: "We do not see things as they are, Hue, but as we are." - Dr. Grey.

(Pegamos ela durante o progresso do game).

- Dr. Grey.

This game is really simples and fast, depends of your capaccity to resolve puzzles. The story is told with cards that you find after catch new colors. The puzzles are solved using the mechanic to change the colors of the world, seeing the world in different ways (I think so). You need to push boxes, change color to hide objects and pass, take keys and avoiding to die. I know it's a Indie game but I think it could deliever more.

This game reminds me a lot of Limbo but more colorful. The music and narration are both sweet and the puzzles are challenging and satisfying with each new area having different mechanics to keep things fresh.

In this game, you solve the easiest sliding-block puzzles ever devised by man while a disembodied voice reads bad poetry about colors to you. I genuinely struggle to think of someone this would appeal to.

If you are in the mood for a colour based indie game with puzzles, story and colorful visuals this is the game for you!
This is the 1st game I beat on my PS Portal and its MEANT BE PLAYED THERE :)

As this game uses the lights on PS Portal , DualShock 4 and DualSense. Looks SO BEAUTIFUL! FANTASTIC use of them perfectly fits the game :D

3☆ - Leaving it at this rating for now because it seemed pretty good but didn't keep me hooked. Art is good and gameplay is unique and interesting though, but I will have to come back to finish it and give a proper review.

awesome small puzzle game, you'll have a lot of fun with this one.
though the puzzles in the end are slightly less fun

[Played on SteamDeck (playable) and it ran perfectly, but I had cloud save issues every time I tried to play, luckily it just required a reload, and I didn't lose any data.]

I really enjoyed my time with this game, but unfortunately I could only play 10-30 minutes at a time because it would give me a headache. The screen often shakes in certain areas and combined with the sudden change in colors, it can grow to be pretty painful. I wish there was an option to switch the screen shaking off, this would help a ton for me personally. I did power through and finish the game though, and I really loved the puzzles (besides the obstacles that caused the screen to shake) and the color switching mechanic was so fun to mess with!

In a dark world, we could use some simple color, but maybe also a little more.

The premise of Hue is simple enough: use colors to solve puzzles. It is a good mix of some mild platforming and some mild to medium puzzling. A lovely artistic style would be necessary for a game about colors and this particular game about colors delivers a solid aesthetic. It is cartoony but not cartoonish, cute but not cutesy, and simple but not simplistic. Visually, it is crafted well.

As I played through, I started off thinking this game was great and was going to land in a solid 4-star review, but as I progressed I found myself wanting to just get through it. It started feeling repetitive. The puzzles varied, but maybe weren't challenging enough? I did watch a video or two for the last couple, but most could be figured out without too much difficulty. Adding new colors and features was a nice progression, so I don't think it was only the puzzles. After some reflection, I think the music made the puzzles feel more repetitive than they actually are. Each music choice appears to be on about a ten-second loop. Maybe they were royalty-free loops the devs got for cheap and decided just to play to death, but I found myself playing without sound for some time, particularly when staring at a puzzle for several minutes making my plan of attack.

Slightly spoilery bit: I think the mom was a student when she fell in love with her professor? That made me feel a little weird despite the calming British accent the story was told in. Maybe they were both professors? It does say that he's not much older than her, but still... it feels weird and weirdly specific. Anyways...

A pretty and fun little game to play during some dark times while we work on how to get out of them.

Review from thedonproject.com

The puzzles are fun initially, but get too repetitive. Most puzzles consist of pushing boxes to activate buttons or to block lasers.

Great game. I loved the color mechanics and the puzzles escalated in difficulty at a nice pace.

We played this game a long long time ago, and most memory of it has unfortunately gone with age. But the things that stick, even now, are the music and- aptly- the colour choices.

Hue is a game that drags things on for much too long. The main feature of the game is how you can control colours to complete puzzles, and while this is fun for a little, the game tends to get stale really fast. The puzzles are pretty uninteresting and never really give you that great "aha" feeling that a lot of other great puzzle games do. Most of the time you are left with a feeling of emptiness when beating the puzzle knowing that you have another time-consuming puzzle to complete in order to progress. The game just felt like it was disrespecting my time half the time and the plot isn't even enjoyable. While it only took me 3 1/2 hours to beat Hue, it is something that I would never really go through again. The game is not good, but it's not THAT bad either, it's just pure mind-numbing mid.

The ending hit way harder than it had any right too

It's been so long since I've played it, but I remember being impressed and aggravated at the same time. The game reminds me of limbo with color.

fiz speedrun competindo com meus amigos pra ver quem terminava primeiro

Got all the way to the end of this lovely game but finally had to give it up because I just couldn't manage the last little bit of platforming. Sad about that, but otherwise really enjoyed this game.
