I love this game's free flow mechanic, it's an incredible amount of fun to bounce off enemies and buildings
Aside from that, this game has a special place in my heart because I played the demo religiously as a kid before finally getting the full game, it was like ... a dream come true hehe

There is no good Kingdom Hearts game that uses the command deck.

Played this game on 3ds emulator but camera kept crashing

My main mistake with this was playing on hard, thinking that it wouldn't be super hard. The difficulty is so vastly different and random from game to game, that I was not prepared for what I got, and ultimately I quit.

This game starts off by you inexplicably fighting Ursula as a tutorial, and then immediately goes on to spoil The World Ends With You, a game barely anyone had played up to that point, and that is only the first hour of the game. Baffled, yet admired by how much this one goes completely off the rails.

I'm the biggest dream drop support of all time.

listen this has a LOT of issues but i love soriku

I genuinely love the story but god it insists upon itself

Ngl: this game really looked cool and played the demo like crazy. I was really hyped to see what was next after Birth By Sleep for then just getting more and more disappointed over the years (with KH 3 as the final blow).

I did beat the game during the hype and had fun overall. Yea, mandatorily changing between Sora and Riku can be annoying, I get that and I can see why people disliked the game's core mechanic. Flowmotion was really fun and they kept it for KH III for a good reason.

Kingdom Hearts: DDD, THAT'S THE NAME YOU SHOULD KNOW! DEDEDE, HE'S THE KING OF THE SHOW! YOU'LL HOLLER AND HOOT, HE'LL GIVE KIRBY THE BOOT! DEDEDE IS THE ONE!

really lacking in terms of design, with a lot of generic 'big heartless guy' bosses and 'big oval with things you can jump on' stages. this was also where the plot started getting a little too stupid for me. riku's story final boss is a boss design war crime

Here the story started to be a shit. Gameplay is good but not enough. Very disappointing

This was my first Kingdom Hearts game, years and years ago when they first announced the third one, which turned me onto the series in the first place. The Pixar characters were enough to get my attention, and the only modern console I had was the 3DS, so it all seemed pretty natural to pick it up. I couldn't have known 😅

The problems with this game's story are ones that the whole series suffers from, just too much required reading to have any inkling as to what's going on.

Fortunately, YEARS and YEARS later after on-and-off exposure to the story, with practice playing other games, seeing the tie-in movies and all that jazz, it's a rewarding enough experience.

I really like the dream guys, I like that it's a little less consequential, I like Sora's outfit, I like the story, and I love the gameplay, but it's very very very hard. I think I'm pretty good at video games but this one can get grindy and the bosses are completely nuts, often in unfair ways.

Regardless, yeah, I think I'd recommend dream drop distance, but specifically to people who have played other games in the series, and do yourselves a favour and play the remastered version on something other than a 3DS.

I haven't finished this game but I remember liking what I played of it

Playing this game's fight against Julius, the giant Frankenstein cat with big arms that makes weird noises while spamming Balloonga is probably the closest way in the modern day society to feeling like an actual caveman

i'm going to be honest, symphony of sorcery alone gives this game a lot of points. anyway, the 3ds and hd versions are about equal in my eyes. the hd version has significantly better controls, but the gimmicks (dream eaters and reality shifts) are much more fun on the 3ds.

funny five seconds but really five seconds not more

this is the point the story gets a little fucky wucky but i dont care just use your brain +++ the pokemon are awesome

The beginning of the end for the Kingdom Hearts legacy. I had pre-ordered it, like I do with all KH games, and was so excited. Then I got it. Then I beat it. Then I didn't really think much about it again.

The combat is mostly pretty fun, and the movement is legitimately great, but the Dream Eater system being tied to your character progression was a awful choice. The world choices leave a bit to be desired, for every legitimately inspired Fantasia world, there's a completely bland and forgettable Tron Legacy world. This was also the point in the series where Kingdom Hearts's overarching story truly jumped the shark into absurdity.
