If the game is good, I generally don't find a problem with it being remastered but for some reason... KH 2.5 didn't make a good impression on me. I loved the game (specifically the second game) when I played it on the ps2 but for some reason, didn't like it after.

This is one of those games that made a very good impression the 1st time around but after some years I don't feel the same excitement anymore. Perhaps they changed some things with this port.

Opinions about:

KH2 - Same thing I said before. It's a beautiful game for the PS2 but this version didn't have the same impact on me.

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep - Terrible but terrible voice acting. Aqua sounds asleep or bored all the time. Did she have a free pass into the industry?

Peak Kingdom Hearts experience just play it also Roxas is the best character

This is one of the only remakes that make the original worse in comparison. Not only do they add certain things that make the game more fun, they increase the graphics to my favorite game of all time. Not only that, but there is two extra games to play as well. We love to see a remix thats better than the thing they are making better.

It has KH2 and you get a free copy of mid with it

The best 2 games in the Kingdom Hearts series in one package.

Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix
See my KH2 PS2 review for my full thoughts. But in summary:

The opening of KH2 is still a drag, and not just the 2-3 hour tutorial at the very beginning. It almost takes the first 10 hours and speeding through the Disney stories before you can get to the real good stuff... I really despised the rehashed Disney stories in this game more than almost any other... maybe because this was the one KH game that had the most potential for being a 10/10 solely due to its improved gameplay/battle system from the original. It isn't until you revisit Hollow Bastion for the second time, the game really picks up.

However, the additional features introduced in the Final Mix version, that weren't in vanilla KH2 on the PS2, make this a far superior product. This is a really great game.

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix
"My name is Master Aqua. Now return my friend's heart or pay the price!"

My favorite Kingdom Hearts game. It definitely doesn't have the best gameplay of the collection - that belongs to KH2. But damn, do I love this one more than any of the others. From the 3 new lead characters, non-repeated Disney worlds, the Star Wars references (Mark Hamill, Keyblade Masters, etc.), and the darker, more mature tone, KH BBS is spectacular and such a fresh KH experience (unlike the other sequels/spinoffs preceding it).

Without going into spoilers, the ending of each character's route, and the bosses you fight are incredible. Aqua's last boss fight is one of my favorite KH moments out of the entire series. And the music... oh the music! So damn extraordinary!

I wished other KH games followed more in the footsteps of this game than the others. I'd have loved for the series to continue to focus on its KH original characters, and to grow up with its audience... At least, as much as a game can, with a cast that includes Mickey Mouse, Donald and Goofy. :)

I love him and his bald head so so much <333333

KH2FM is an amazing game, it picks up the story after Chain of Memories and with the Final Mix changes its nearly my perfect game.
KHBBSFM is a great game with a sad tail that gives context to events in KH1 and events later in the series.

as a collection, this is a lot of great content
I am using this as my log for kingdom hearts 2 cause that's the main game on this thing I will add birth by sleep separate

Memoria afetiva enorme.

ROXAS <3

A great collection, great remaster, and has 2 of the best KH games on 1 disc.

This is a bundle that contains the middle third of the xehanort saga of Kingdom Hearts. It includes HD remakes of Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Remix and Kindgom Hearts Birth By Sleep Final Remix, as well as a cutscenified version of Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded. In terms of bonus content, completing each game unlocks a special console theme based off of each game, which is cool. Like the first collection, this is definitely the most accessible way to play these games and I do think the overall game quality is better here than with 1.5 so yea

Will never get tired of these games.

Kingdom Hearts 2 is arguably the best gameplay wise of the KH games, and I'm inclined to agree. Combat is awesome, drive forms still haven't been matched in levels of sauce since, and it feels super fluid once you are good at it. The story in this game is also amazing, that goes without question with the KH games. KH2 is where I feel like there is a large increase in scope, and it also fleshes out more characters and sets up future installments very well. I especially love Remix for adding the Roxas fight in TWTNW, it's honestly one of my favorite boss fights in gaming, from music to sheer cool factor. Overall, love this game dearly, and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes video games.

My first approach to KH II and second approach to BBS which I actually managed to beat for the first time there.

Pretty solid remaster of the best Kingdom Hearts game alongside a good remaster of one of the best PSP games (only gripe is the resolution being obviously PSPish as you can feel unlike KH 2 that felt widescreen).

Certainly a vast improvement over the original game, KH2 features a far more fleshed out story, interesting twists, and more impact as a whole. The updated mechanics were a blast to experiment with, and some of the climactic boss fights were both challenging and visually incredible all these years later.

I got the first 40 percent or so in, and was absolutely regretting my decision to play these games. This is where it got good, right? Trudging through the disney levels which are disappointingly cleaved from the original stuff, poor soulless retreads of their source materials' stories for the most part. This was the only one I played through fully as a kid, and my favorite parts were way shallower than I remembered. The inkblot disney world, NBC and such. Wonky voice acting and music just being absent during cutscenes making this seem extremely shoddy for an extraordinarily budgeted and IP drenched series, which I figured had been sort of improved in the 2nd game. But not so much until you dig into more and more of the KH-specific stuff. And I felt that the games were best enjoyed years apart as they released, since you have enough time to drift away from it and rediscover the combat in it, as that was its primary strength beyond the wild novelty that had worn thin by the 2nd title(chain of memories).

As I pushed on, it did improve in presentation, though still was a bit of a slog. I would say it formed sort of a wide U shape curve with a spike in the middle if I were to graph my enjoyment of it.

Overall, it does feel like if you absorb the whole series this has the possibility of that swing upwards in the middle being the turning point for where the games get good, or at least better. I'm hoping so, because I'm so far deep in my sunk cost fallacy that I will refuse to quit my goal of playing all of them.

In some backwards sort of way, the completely nonsensical story and exposition is actually to the game's benefit. It's so over the top that it loops back around on itself in an self-reverent sort of way that is actually extremely fitting. It rides the line between sentimental and ridiculous, and does so with unwavering grace.

The gameplay is exactly what you'd expect, and there are a plethora of dumb characters and worlds to run around. However, the presentation is top-notch. In a way that only nostalgia for this game could explain — something I did not experience — Kingdom Hearts II is the cement in a young player's childhood; something us as adults can look back on with longing that transports us to a simpler time. The story's heavy-handed passion for its characters has the ability to connect with players in a way most games are unable to.

Almost great by accident, the game is dumb fun, but for those who like this game, even just a little bit, tend to love it whole-heartedly. With one of the most satisfying endings in video game history, it's a good thing never made more of these... Hold up...

Wonderful way to play Kingdom Hearts 2 and Birth by Sleep (both banger games in their own right), and probably tells Re:coded's story better than the actual game

this game (kingdom hearts 2) came out and i was like... woah...

I played through KH2 again on here. I didn't really care for the game at release. I found it pretty boring compared to the original. When I played Final Mix on here, I thought was better. I just don't really care for these games. I was the target-audience of KH1 when it released so I enjoyed it then, but I was just getting new entries after that because I was still in the process of growing out of liking them. Pretty harsh, but that's where we are.

I didn't mess with anything else on here, so I'm going to leave a rating off.

This game is so fucking good bro 😭😭😭

Not one but TWO Final Mix versions finally coming to America? Sign me tf up, that's great news!

Only 1-2 games out of the whole compilation are even worth playing, and the other's aren't even worth watching the cutscenes for since the KH story is a mess to begin with.

The two best kingdom hearts games in one package. Sign me up

This is the version of II that has the best fight in the game, the Roxas fight that was previously just a cutscene. This is also the first time I fully finished BBS, as I did not know about the final episode previously.
