Nem lembro quanto tempo fiquei jogando essa maravilha na infância. Neopets é tão cheio de detalhes, tão rico em design, jogos, na própria lore também, deu pra ver que tem bastante carinho. Mas com o passar do tempo, foi sendo esquecido, nem sei se o site ainda existe.

I have 20+ year old account so...
Um jogo bem diferenciado para a sua época. Aqui não tinha o que reclamar de falta de opções e atualizações. Sempre lançavam novos minijogos e coisas novas para fazer. Sempre me recordo do jogo de tabuleiro(Busca das Chaves) e, na minha opinião o melhor de todos, o "petpetpet", que, infelizmente, quando voltei a jogar há uns anos já havia sido descontinuado.
Também me lembro de sistemas bem interessantes, como o da Árvore do Dinheiro, onde podíamos pegar itens deixados por outros jogadores. Era sempre uma expectativa enorme de pegar um bom item, visto que vários jogadores disputavam simultaneamente pela doação, o mais rápido vencia.

every time I want to keep my list tidy and organized with games I beat recently I just remember some bullshit game I dumped hundreds of hours into 15 years ago or something, this is driving me NUTS
honestly fuck neopets. not only did they ban my account when i accidentally found an item duplication glitch when i was literally 9 (assholes), they also had that data breach that leaked my email, password, IP address, date of birth, and name. also i don't think i can count this against neopets but i was also banned from the neopets discord server

One time I got a Neopets toy from Mcdonald's and I held it out the window of the car by its tag and it flew out of my hand. We went back for it but couldn't find it. I was bummed out.

It's difficult to give a concrete rating to a game that has been around and changing with the internet for more than two decades.
On one hand it created and for a while dominated the niche subgenre of the browser pet sim, but as the years went by many others surfaced that either did things different enough to grab players attention away from it, as well as adding quality of life improvements to keep them playing.
I haven't checked it out in a while so I'm not sure of it's current state, and I can't say that it's an experience that I'd recommend to people who have never tried a game like this before.
Is one of those experiences that unfortunately is not the same as it once was and relies a lot on it's community to be enjoyable.
But if you love collecting 20+ years worth of items, trophies, collectables and so on who am I to stop you?
However if you're interested on the history of the site (which is fascinating to me) I highly recommend checking out any documentary essay on youtube that you can find on it, the stuff that this game has brought up to the table and all it's controversies are incredible.

Neopets' decentralized, browser-based, user-driven infrastructure grew organically into a world of mystery: online grandparents, virtual billionnaires, once-in-a-blue-moon events, hidden hyperlinks, and comically account-ruining consequences.

nowhere near as good as Club Penguin from my experience but damn did those Neopets designs go hard
