Besides DS, this was the other New Super Mario Bros. game that I remember so fondly. I will say it is a bit carried by the multiplayer fun aspect as playing single player isn't as fun but the adventure you have with friends or family is a blast. Awesome new powers up as well! Great game.

A great platformer and probably the best to play multiplayer

You've probably heard that this game is carried by the multiplayer.
It is 100% true.

shit went crazy at my 7th birthday party no lie

Whoa! The Koopalings return? Sure hope they don't become overused!

Fun and maintains the charm of the original, perhaps that’s just nostalgia though

Had so much fun goofing around with my brothers and friends in this game

Really good Mario experience overall. Love how it brought the DS experience to home console with a multiplayer option. Story is as basic as Mario bros can get as the koopa kids kidnapp Peach and take her to bowser where she sits in a room like a helpless child waiting for Mario to come and give him a peck on the cheek. From what I remember(which is a pretty good memory as I have completed it from start to finish at least 5 times) this game was pretty fun both solo and with at least 1 other person. Up to four people can play this game however I wouldn’t recommend that because it just gets outright chaotic at that point. Apart from that, the only other thing I thought was lame about this game was how besides Mario and Luigi, a blue and yellow toad were the other two playable characters. This was such a missed opportunity in my opinion as Wario and Waluigi would’ve been much better picks as well as their own special abilities. For example, Mario being able to double jump, Luigi being able to jump higher and run faster, ect.. Obviously, you have your power ups such as a fire flower, and star with a few new ones added to the mix. The helicopter cap, ice flower, and penguin suit, I very much so appreciate their welcome as they added versatility to this games power ups. Freezing enemies, sliding on ice, and flying are now abilities that are possible thanks to the introduction of these items. Items like the mega mushroom and blue turtle shell are notably absent from the DS instalment, which I found disappointing. Enemies and maps are also your basic Mario ones as you have your grass world, sand, snow, lava, ect.. Aswell as your goombas, koopa troopas, piranha plants, and koopa kids as final bosses of each world you finish. Consider the koopa kids as mini bosses before your reach bowser which is the final boss. Overall, this is my favourite installment in the NSMB series. Highly recommend going back to this one for nostalgia reasons, or just to overall have a good time playing through it. I’d give this game a 4.3 out of 5 stars.

PEAK COUCH CO-OP GRAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH.

O mais do mesmo bem feito, mundos criativos, novos inimigos e Power ups que deixam o game divertido, como um jogo do Mario tem que ser.

sad statement but i wish i had friends to play this with when i was a kid

The Mario game I think about the most...

I know this series is infamous for reuse of assets, but the multiplayer of this game is what makes it my favorite of the NSMB series.

Shelving at the start of World 3, the New Soup games may not be for me even if they're still quality games. Gonna be giving New Soup DS ago sometime soon though, may come back to Wii eventually :)

it was alr i love the multiplayer was fun

The first video game I ever played...

Played with friends and hated every single second of it. 10/10 would play again.

This first one was great, all the other copies not so much

The game is actually pretty short if you know where to find all the warp zones! The game can get pretty repetitive but it's still fun (as long as you aren't playing with other people which could lead to fights lol)!

Extremely hard, it’s not even funny

ive always liked new soup wii better than the wii u version and i dont really know why

The very first video game that I was obsessed with as a young child! This and Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time were my first few video games I've ever loved. This game is probably my least favorite of all the NSMB games. Not sure why!

Very good with friends, overall a great game

The game that introduced me to this rabbit hole. In my eyes it's the perfect 2D platformer
