Will forever be one of my all-time favorites - the thrilling combat, all the amazingly cool abilities, the second-to-none art, the beautiful and emotional narrative that gets me every single time, all the fantastically charming characters, the GOAT OST that still makes this lifeless husk of a person feel deeply, and so much more. What I wouldn't give for a proper large-scale sequel. I just hope the dungeons contained more than one simple puzzle each.
It's a delight to play such a gorgeous game as this one. The bits of detail in almost every nook & cranny are so satisfying to observe during all the gameplay, specially if you like the art style and theme.
It gets some points of japanese culture, legends and shintoism myths quite well, but not a 1 to 1 representation, which gives the feeling of a rewriting of said myths to match with a 30-hour game plot. Really good characters and story progression.
I don't need to talk about soundtrack. If you like old japanese instruments such as taiko, shamisen and koto, you will absolutely love it, without a doubt.
Overall, one of the best aesthetics I experienced in a game. It being from 2006 and still being this good has its value. So if you heard somewhere that this game is THE GOAT, go for it. It's true, all the stories are true.

While a bit too long and easy for my liking, Okami is still very enjoyable and one of the most unique games I've played. The amazing art style, the great soundtrack, the brush techniques, puzzles, and even the combat mechanics being not too shabby, help contribute making this a very tight and enjoyable package. This is a game I can easily recommend to other people to at least try out.
Sadly this game didn't live up to the hype. The game is beautiful and both the different brush powers and the scenarios you play in are varied, original and fun. However, combat feels too easy and at the same time can feel boring, having to wait for plenty of enemies to act in a certain way to advance the fight. There are also heavy pacing issues, with the beginning of the game being extremely slow. At times it just feels like a watered down Zelda with not even half of its usual depth.
It was still a fun game to play through but I wouldn't say it's anything revolutionary.

Idk how to talk about this game. Some of it is really good, other bits completely take you out of the experience. The writing can be really... distracting. But damn if it doesn't have presentation in absolute spades, and the world design is pretty great to. Okami is a solid but flawed game with a radiant coat of paint.
