I originally bought this game on sale back in 2019, just for Red Dead Online since I used to only really play multiplayer games at the time. I tried it out for like only 2 hours and hadn't touched it at all up until late 2023, when I decided to play the singleplayer since I was stuck at home and off of work from a major jaw surgery, so I had nothing better to do. I still cannot believe I had missed out on Red Dead Redemption 2 for all these years... The heart-wrenching story, the masterfully crafted world, some of the best and most compelling characters I have ever known in any media... The scene between Arthur and Sister Calderon about, "taking a gamble that love exists, and do a loving act." Arthur sorrowfully telling Rain Falls, "You don't get to live a bad life, and expect good things to happen to you." The conversation between Charles and Arthur about having the time to make amends while you've still got the chance. These interactions changed my life for the better. It made me get off my lazy fatass and start being more productive by finally going to college, quit my dead-end job and find a fulfilling one instead, and start hitting the gym. I'm honestly not sure if any other game I've played, or am going to play, will match up to this absolute, marvelous masterpiece.

ARTHUR MORGANNNNNNNNNNN <3 <3 <3 <3 UwU >->

Got so invested in the story and immersed in the world, Rockstar will probably never make a game that will surpass this, probably the best game i’ve ever played im not gonna lie to you.

My favorite game of all time. What a fucking good game, at the end it is not that goddamn wheel that is broken. The only broken thing is my heart.

Just omg. This game is a masterpiece. Cried sm. Ending was magnificent. Combat was amazing. Health system was amazing. Graphics were amazing. Just everything was amazing. Played through it 3 times and it's still my fav games even after 5 years. Like I fr don't know how to explain how good this game is

GOAT game, just unreachable,so much high level content ,an outstanding prologue to one of the best games of the 3d era

O GOAT!!

While open world to just roleplay freely as a cowboy is
a nearly perfect game, the story and main campaign were a major disappointment to me.

Micah is real barebones of generic bad guy and a even obvious betrayer with 0 redeeming qualities to not get shot in the head in any point of the story by Arthur or John or anyone else in the gang who he never stops antagonizing, Sadie feels out of place in the story or a last minute addition, that just criticizes thieves while getting fed by them and through the entire story she's in the background and doesn't participate at all till she out of nowhere becomes a perfect gungslinger mary sue and helps Arthur a bit in the end.
Most of the crew don't really have their time to shine in the story, Dutch became crazy trusting a stranger in his camp instead of basically his own 2 sons, and Javier and Bill never have even a ounce of their fates in RDR1 ever hinted at, just being on the background till the story ends.

The story of RDR2 along with the linear boring handholding missions are by far its weakest part, which Arthur context addition to it or even anyone else other in the gang don't add to its complexion or themes of Red Dead Redemption 1 at all.

With the news of Dan Houser leaving Rockstar, I have very big suspicions that he barely participated in the writing of RDR2 if at all since I don't think this game's matches his cynical and volatile style of writing a story and its characters, one which also helps to contour the ludorranative dissonance aspects of a story very much so, but don't quote me on that.

My second favorite game of all time. WIth 2 full playthroughs and hundreds of hours of RDR2-youtube under my belt, I am very familiar with this game. I love the characters, atmosphere, story, gameplay, and once again, the characters. The narrative that this game tells, in my opinion, is one of the greatest of all time. And jesus christ, Arthur Morgan IS the greatest character of all time. He is such an incredibly good character. The world is also second to none, along with the graphics and ai that only enhance the incredible world. I wouldn't not recommend rdr2 to anyone. 5/5 stars

The best story Rockstar has ever made, and possibly the most vibrant and life-filled world they've ever made, while also having some of the most restrictive and tedious missions in any of their main storylines. My first run was absolutely mindblowing and definitely cemented it as a favorite, but I find upon replays that there's a lotta stuff I wish I could just skip through.

Also it controls super weird but all their games have a very specific control scheme that's pretty unique to them, so that's to be expected.

Originally played it on PS4 but it's probably best played on PC these days to really bring out all the detail, and of course then you can mod the stuff that's tedious.

if you take out the "riding from point A to point B to begin mission" this game is 3 hrs long.....but hold on dutch im lootin will always live on

Tesão de jogo, simplesmente perfeito.

Simplesmente uma obra prima do mundo dos jogos!

After 70hs, this game is a masterpiece. I do believe GTA V is a better game, but not by much. Loved every second.

allez un dernier coup et après on arrête... hein les gars?!

Oh my god, this is such a perfect game. It’s so beautiful and intricate and heartbreaking and silly, but just prepare yourself for how world-obliterating the life of a rootin’ tootin’ cowboy is cause no one warned me (I’m not the person I once was) (what do I do with myself anymore?)

Side note, can’t believe I didn’t hear ONE yeehaw 😔

Even though the mission is outdated, the feeling gamepad in hand is not the most comfortable, I can help but praise the game for its writing, its environment and most of all, for giving us Arthur Morgan, one of if not the best protag/character I've played in a video game

one of those games that stick with you

Great experience with negative replayablility
