I adore littlebigplanet and sackboy but also some of the most frustrating platforming I've ever played in my life

Surprise smash hit of the PS5. Game companies need to make more shit like this

LittleBigPlanet games are known for their creativity, innovation and create & share mentality, but nothing like that is present in this game. It's just a basic platformer where only new additions are infinite lives and top-down view. Some levels are good, but too many of them felt like a fillers to make the game longer. It doesn't help that advancing in the game requires backtracking & replaying old levels because you need to collect some orbs to unlock new ones. As a LittleBigPlanet fan it saddens me to admit that I was mostly just bored with this game.

Lbp fans keep yourself safe

The LittleBigPlanet games have always been mediocre at best platformers, but the platforming was never the main draw. The true appeal of LittleBigPlanet wasn’t the game developed by Media Molecule, but the game(s) created by the players in Create mode, a mode so expansive that users can create games in damn near any genre. Experiencing the boundless creativity of others is what really drove the success of the LittleBigPlanet trilogy. When you get rid of the Create mode, all you’re left with is a mildly charming but extremely middling platformer, and unfortunately that’s the case here.

This was an absolute blast to play! Highly recommend that you all should check this out! As someone who grew up on platformers, this game was a nice throwback for me!

an unfun reskinned version of mario 3d world

I haven't changed much of my thoughts on this game but It won't hurt to elaborate methinks
This definitely is not a LBP game so I'm sorry to all the people who've been waiting since like. 2014 but what it is is a really good platformer game
I do think this has probably the weakest OST in any LBP related game (i love bruno mars but holy shit the uptown funk drop reminded me of an illumination movie :sob:) but with that said it's still like an 8/10. I can't dislike a soundtrack with 2 Mello in it come on now.
The story is definitely more of a focus and it's pretty good at what it wants to do. Vex is a pretty good villain and I know he's sexy tumblrman bait but IDK I still like him. He's like pre twink death Oogie Boogie
I liked the city world and Naomi a lot. That's pretty much it This game is just real good
holy shit please release lbp 4 soon though i'm fucking starving

Jogo muito bom na sua proposta, só acredito q seja longo demais. "Cavaleiro tricotado", mais conhecido como "inferno 2".

This is a very nice surprise to go through. From playing the 2D style gameplay of Little Big Planet 2 and 3, I am very satisfied with what they did for this game. It is a very enjoyable and fun game to play for those who are fans of the franchise and love 3D platformers. The level design is very cool to go through. The costumes are nice to get. Despite the story being simple, it is very fun to go through. I also love how the cutscenes for the game is animated from the last little big planet games. My only issue with the game is the the trials can be mostly miss over hit.

Overall, a very nice and relaxing experience for those who love Little Big Planet and 3D platformers. Definitely, an adventure you guys wanna have.

Very fun game with unique mechanics each level, enjoyed completing it the more I played

Bit of a team effort this (niche sentence, some of the music done by the Go Team), as I played some but equally my son and daughter played co-op together. Which, given she has only just turned four, points to a pretty intuitive control scheme as she held her own really well. The levels are neat, soundtrack is cool, some great voice-acting, an all round fun time.

A very nice 3D platformer, similar to Mario 3D Land, though it is relatively unknown.

As opposed to the LBP games this one was built around the platforming. The mechanics are very tight making the levels very fun to speed run. It seems this borrows a lot of ideas from big platformers before it, there’s a little bit of New Super Mario bros vibes as well as some Rayman Legends (with fun but much less impressive music levels).

Despite the improved controls I still like the LBP games better, there is a certain charm Media Molecule had, both in the storytelling and the gameplay mechanics. There is a handful of levels but the scope is greatly reduced, lacking creative mode as well as an active community component. I found it a bit tedious too you couldn’t create or change costumes whenever you pleased. It’s very lacking for a first-party Sony game.

Nonetheless it’s an alright game, something fun for your kids or to casually play with your friends

Apart from the protagonist, this game has nothing in common with Little Big Planet: no Create mode for building own levels; no mini-games to play with your friends; no levels where more than 2 players are needed. There are also a dozillion bugs that make the game very frustrating and very few costumes options.
Overall the story is not bad, but it is a game that can easily be skipped, even if you are a fan of LBP.

Beautifully crafted multiplayer adventure, excellent for a couch co-op; the whole music themed levels are amazing too. I hope we get a sequel to anything like this.

Glad I finally sat down & gave this game a fair shake. Feels like the PlayStation version of Super Mario 3D World. Gameplay is solid, control is tight, visuals are appealing, music levels were a nice touch ---- Sackboy: A Big Adventure is a good time through & through. Collected what I'd guess was about 85% of the main Orb collectibles, and overall, had fun doing so.

This was very fun for my little brother and I who loved the OG games back in the day.

muito divertido, melhor ainda jogando multiplayer. As fases que tem música são de longe as melhores, me emocionei todo quando joguei a fase que toca Houdini do Foster the People. Preciso concluir logo.

Um Mário 3d world pior do sackboy

Sackboy brings with him all of the important charm and style of LittleBigPlanet, alongside a ‘new’ 3D platforming flavour which allows for a bunch of fresh mechanics in the form of swinging, hovering, boomerangs, guns(!). The whole thing is really good, simple family fun that looks great and plays intuitively.

So, a great shame then that a game that so clearly should be played cooperatively has so many annoying little issues on that front; the ability to hit your partner is funny for about the first 5 times it happens, but as the levels amp up and the difficulty increases, hitting your fellow Sackboy is a pain for both of you, and happens often. Although not nearly as often as starting a roll and your buddy being dragged along on top of you without a choice, essentially ruining any of the platforming sequences they were currently trying to conquer. The cherry on top is the ability to bounce on top of another players head, except this happens in all the wrong scenarios like the middle of a treacherous jump together, inevitably sending one of you to death. Maybe these criticisms are bearable played locally, but online play can be jittery and janky for everyone but the host, with plenty of ‘I made that jump on my screen?!’ and ‘the enemy never even touched me?!’ shouted during every other stage. These issues are exacerbated in the otherwise deeply enjoyable musical numbers where the levels and their traps are synced to a number of high profile licensed tracks (and covers of) that will have you questioning the likely astronomical music budget of the game - these are highlights of the experience!

This is a critical 4/5, but given that my partner who I played online with experienced a bunch of the annoying connection issues from start to finish, I know his score would be lower and I should at least reflect that in this critique. But don’t get me wrong, this is a super fun platformer that looks, sounds and plays fantastic - just play it locally.

Sackboy is a 3D platforming game that is best played with a partner. My wife and I had a blast playing this game together and trying to collect all of the dreamer orbs. Collecting outfits and being able to customize your look is also a huge benefit to the entertainment value. The story is pretty boring and forgettable. The game shines in its simplicity and ability to just be fun to play together.

hearing the Iconic LBP sound effects on PC is chef's kiss. I definitely enjoyed their approach to gameplay here for a spin off. visually a lot of cool textures and effects to see while progressing through a level. can't tell if its a PC port problem but the desyncing/rubber-banding when playing online with others because of framerate was very negatively impacting my overall experience even when at times all I ever dipped down to was 59 frames.

A fun 3D platformer, it's basically Playstation's version of Mario 3D World. A solid game and an enjoyable playthrough.
