started having an issue (dunno if it's mac specific or not) where it would stop responding to certain click interactions, preventing me from progressing - at first i was reloading from checkpoints to reset this but as this became increasingly frustrating during the puzzle across the last two screens i nearly abandoned the game right before the ending before thankfully managing to restore functionality without resetting progress by repeatedly toggling between fullscreen and windowed mode.

anyway it's another samorost.

Basically as soon as I finished the first game, I downloaded this and immediately started playing. This sequel came out two years after Samorost 1, and it's a better game than that one in pretty much everything. Game length is still not the longest, but I am more than fine with that. According to steam I clocked a little over an hour and 10 minutes on it, and that seems accurate. The artstyle remains charming as fuck, and there's a lot of new things to see in this game. Music is also still quite relaxing and very appropriate, but writing this exactly 3 months after beating it I can't remember any of the tracks off the top of my head. They were perfectly appropriate for the situation. Puzzle situation had a lot of moon logic moments, and I'll admit I looked up a guide at one point because I did not know what to do next. A couple puzzles have a lot of steps and there's some long animations that are cute the first two or three times but start to get grating after a while. Still a very decent point and click romp, but I think playing it so close to the first one makes them blend in my head now.

Like the original, a bizarre point 'n click puzzle game with all the personality and quality you would expect from an Amanita Design game, even if it is one of their first.

Better than the fist one, another classic.

Samorost 2 is an hour long version of the original whimsical fifteen minute game. The final segment was a bit annoying and felt tacked on but overall it was a solid title.

A bit better and long than the first.
Art and atmosphere are still top notch, maybe i will try the 3 or machinirium :)

Gorgeous and unique little game. I can still remember so many images and scenes years later. Left an impression on me despite being extremely straightforward to play.

It's alright. A little too much pixel peeping and nonsensical puzzle solutions for my taste.

I only encountered one bug (the mosquito that you grab getting stuck in place if timed wrong), but it wasn't too difficult to work around.

This one seemed to lack a lot of the atmosphere of the first in favor of more bodily humor. Not bad, just not as interesting as I was hoping after Samorost 1.

A visually impressive and neat looking game that was completely and I mean completely unfun to play. You wander around, click on random stuff that's hard to find in the environment and wonder what the hell you're supposed to do. As a game it doesn't work even a little bit.

Such an instant wonder. This is a very strong piece of my childhood, and a huge unconscious inspiration for a lot of what I try to make these days.

After replaying Botanicula yesterday, I knew I had to go ahead and replay all these old Amanita classics. It's suuuuuch a shame that Samorost 1, Quest For The Rest, and Questionaut were all Flash games :( Maybe the studio will rerelease them as downloadables (though I doubt it).

Just like the first Samorost, this one doesn't leave you disappointed!
While the original is better, this one has that beautiful artstyle that fans were expecting.

I personally loved this one and would play it again!

Like for the first game, I adore the bonkers art style typical of Amanita Design.

My favourite funny scene was in Mount Seal, where you have to fill up the fuel tank of the space taxi with the flying seals' gases.
The smoking man with the realistic face is pretty funny too.

Hilarious continuation of the small browser game Samorost. Marks the beginning of amazing adventure game series from studio Amanita Design, starring much more extensive and fascinating games such as Machinarium or Samorost 3.

Avventura punta e clicca molto breve. Consigliato.

While sharing the sheer imagination of its predecessor, Samorost 2 falls a bit shorter because of more serious investment in "gameyness." The events required to complete the Gnome's journey are less convoluted and magical than they were the first time around, instead focusing on practical solutions to advance the gamestate. Gotta distract that guy. Gotta press the right combination of inputs to trap my captor in the recliner. Gotta refuel this spaceship and make repeat journeys up the mountain to get more fuel if something gets mistimed. S2 has its moments, namely the Weed Man in the dead woods, but this is not quite as enrapturing as the original's fever dream.

thank u to my friend for getting me this <333333333 i will play it someday

Samorost 2 is, I believe, the earliest Amanita game you can get on Steam, since the ones before it, including its predecessor, Samorost, were all flash games. It's a point-n'-click adventure that follows a space gnome searching for his dog.

It's okay, but there's not much reason to play this anymore in a world where Machinarium and Botanicula exist. It's simpler, with puzzles mostly existing within single screens, shorter, and not as charming. But it's an alright way to spend a couple of hours.

It's a competent little point and click adventure game. Some alright puzzles, but also the game didn't really telegraph well what you could all interact with, so that made some puzzles pretty dumb.
Also there was one visual thing near the end of the game that was very out of place and made me a little uncomfortable for some reason.
Anyways, it's a charming little game, but it's also extremely short.

Tad bit longer than the first game, but it's essentially the same experience. Loved it start to finish.

It's the first one, but longer, and the art has improved in fidelity. A fun, weird journey.
