I'd say pass it. Its only saving grace is its VR mode, but that was only barely a silver lining.

Me thinks they should put Kawase in Senran Kagura for my personal gooning sessions

she's kind of like me (unemployed as hell and delusional)

It's good like the other games but it really irritates me that everytime you die it kicks you back to the level select screen. The deaths in the previous two games don't bother me since I can kind of just chill and listen to the music but having to keep entering the level everytime makes the song reset and it isn't as relaxing as a game for me because of that.

Just incredible. The music and the style and the flow of it all, can't say enough good things

I was recommended Sayonara as an entry point in the Umihara Kawase series and it's already become my newest obsession. It feels so good to find a precision platformer that finally clicks with me.

Addicting and satisfying gameplay, soulful 3D aesthetic (though not as appealing as shun's visuals), and very nice music. The additional characters are a nice touch as well even if they don't play differently aside from a helpful checkpoint mechanic. As always there are a few brutal stages mixed in but none of it took an exceptionally long time. Wish they got more use out of the trampolines.

As good as the games before it. Admittedly doesn't look as nice as those, though. The PC port also kinda sucks.

Difficult physics-based grapple platformer. The concept is really great and gives a unique movement system with a high skill ceiling. I definitely got better as I played but it still felt very inconsistent all the way through since it's so wobbly and weird. It's somewhere between satisfying and extremely rage-inducing, I would say Getting Over It is a lot more fair and reasonable than this game.

The graphics and music are nice and cheery which almost gaslights you into thinking this isn't a masochistic game. Sadly the PC port is half assed so the resolution is low and the controls are terrible. You can fix the internal resolution with a third-party tool but this shouldn't be the user's responsibility. I suspect you'd have a better experience emulating this game since these problems would be nullified and you'd also have save-states available which I would definitely have appreciated.

Additionally, I felt the level design was quite terrible. There is a huge learning curve so at the beginning you aren't going to pay much attention to this but later on I realised a lot of the levels are just tedious or incredibly painful rather than being fun.

I still like the game despite all its problems since the core gameplay is good and entirely unique from what I can tell, it also has great vibes. I'll definitely try other games in the series since there isn't really anything else like this out there. I just wish this game was better since it clearly has huge potential.

It's a low budget 3DS game that doesn't really do anything new or different than it's predecessors, but it does have a grappling hook. Mediocre graphics, mediocre music, mediocre level design, perfect grappling hook. Once you understand how it works, it is so fun to just fling yourself around.
Here's a bar graph of how many times I died in each level:

Eu não tenho certeza do que aconteceu

This was the first Umihara Kawase game I played, and I had absolutely no clue what was going on. Why am I a cute anime girl with a fishing rod? Why are there giant vegetables in the background? Why are grappling hooks so damn fun? Okay I know how to answer the last one since basing a game around grappling and swinging inherently opens things up for a lot of absolutely stupid ways to approach things, but after ten years and playing some more of the series, the rest is still a mystery to me.

Sayonara Umihara Kawase is the third entry to the Umihara Kawase series, you must travel once again through levels composed of abstract geometrical shapes, giant mundane items and walking fish armed only with a rubber fishing line and a pink backpack.
This one is the easiest entry in the series, level progression is like the old practice mode so you get infinite tries per level without needing to start all over after losing all of your lives, but the classic campaign style is still present as an unlockable survival mode. Each final exit is also preceded by a boss level so it feels less anticlimatic to win now (Except maybe the first one which is laughably easy to get). Furthermore, there are different playable characters now in addition to Kawase who have special powers like extra checkpoints or being able to slow down time.
However, I'm not a fan of the trampolines, they feel very unpolished in comparison to the good ol' fishing line. Also, the port is as anemic as the others, you can't even remap the keyboard controls so you really want a gamepad. Apparently, the increased framerate for PC makes certain techniques harder too, or so they say, I can't confirm nor deny as I've only played this version.
Still, I managed to reach 50 doors so that's cool, getting to the remaining ones would probably take me like 2 hours each so I'm going to stop now. Fun game regardless.

33 and the second fish can eat my dick

don't fix what isn't broken, i guess. aesthetic is much less charming than the originals though
