Normalize every video game franchise adding their own wacky version of Yoshi.

Played a lot of this during breaks when I worked at Volition. We had a Super Famicom in one of the break areas and would spend 30 to 60 minutes playing the most competitive e-sports game there is.

why are all of these games so good why did hudson have to go under

also this game is just bomberman 94 with extra steps which is fine by me

A re-worked/remixed Bomberman 94, mostly just an excuse to save on making new assets while integrating Buggler and Louie into the Super Famicom games. I don't like it as much as 94, I don't think the levels have as much a semblance of location here, since they never get larger than a single room and have more repetitive tilesets. It's also weird how the bosses are the Dastardly Bombers piloting mechs, but they don't really reflect their abilities at all? So you just get Magnet Bomber controlling a random racoon guy.

It's solid otherwise tho, of the three Super Bomberman games I've played it has my favorite singleplayer. Destroying the glass capsules has a better flow than beating up all the enemies, and there's none of the shitty puzzles from 2.

Also appreciate the new variant of world 4. Desert stages >>>>>>>>>>>>> Haunted stages. That said, why does the main level have Egyptian iconography, but the boss is cacti with sombreros? Huh????????????

Couldn't say much about the music but I do love the mix of hyper-crunchy percussion with soft glockenspiel and synth.

Have a cool stage select theme: https://youtu.be/g9KPtykff0I

Funny thing is that this was one of the few Bomberman games made for the SNES was actually developed by Hudson and not by Produce!, which was a contracted company that used to work with them back in the day.

That explains why this game is so similar to Mega Bomberman and Bomberman '93, because they're basically the same game.

This game is just Bomberman '94... but better!

Color me surprised, with the previous Super Bomberman being OK games based on '90 and '93 this one feels like a reimagined version of '94 and '90 combined for the best experience possible. This is also the most cinematical Bomberman game yet with some cutscenes that actually mean stuff and feel like real damn cutscenes! The story is still the same Super Bomberman thing with the five Dastardly Bombers being the Minions of the true bad guy and you need to defeat them on different planets? I can never understand if games are supposed to be coherent from one another, the Bomberman cinematical universe is fucked up.

Gameplay wise it's really similar to '94 with each world having a selectable mission with the same menu, instead of having 4 worlds it has 5 and they all feel perfectly paced, I never felt bored or anything. The Louies came back with supposedly the ability to jump over blocks, I actually never noticed I could do that and I was confused since they did totally different things in '94 and I was like why can't they do anything? do they only serve as an extra hit or something?

As for the multiplayer, they added some extra game mode not present in '94 and entirely switched the roaster of costumes to some of the characters featured in Panic Bomber W which is such a nice reference to see, actually this game might have been released before Bomber W and the reference is actually reverse... Guess we'll never know... I won't check that online for you, go do it.

This is the magnum opus as of 1995 and even though I think '94 is somewhat superior, I think this game being released on the Super Nintendo makes it so that more people can play it compared to the PC Engine being expensive and the game only released in Japan while Super Bomberman 3 was released in Europe and Japan, so to me this game deserve the magnum opus status, but it doesn't make it my personal favorite.
But who knows, maybe Super Bomberman 4 will be even better!

Despite this being in the Super series, Hudson really did take a lot from their PC Engine game Bomberman '94 for this title. They aren't identical or anything but it does have a lot of similarities and does that make it a great game? No, but it's close.

Super Bomberman 3 is very similar to 94 in that you don't destroy all enemies to beat the level, you have to destroy a certain object till they're all gone and grab the piece and get out of there. Some levels have multiple sections to them and there's 4 levels total for each world minus the last one.

You have the powerups you had in previous Super games but the Rooey makes it debut here for the Super games and they are very similar to their 94 counterparts. The exceptions are now there's one that does the linebomb ability and now pink can jump over tiles instead of doing a funny dance. You can even now take them to any world you want, they won't leave after beating a boss.

Now I have to say it, the levels aren't as good as 94. They are still fun don't get me wrong but something about them feels off? I think it might be the size, a lot of them feel too small to me. They also sadly removed the awesome spooky level for a lame generic Egyptian level. There's still a lot to enjoy here especially compared to the previous two games.

The bosses are now the dastardly bombers from Super 2 however you don't fight them outside of their main boss form unlike in 2. They're pretty good though like the enemies that can take multiple hits, I wish the i-frames on them wasn't so long. It's like a second or two too long for me personally. The final boss is now two forms instead of three which is odd.

The multiplayer is back and it's as fun as ever with up to five players to play and it even has that one mechanic where a loser can still throw bombs at you. Was this the first game to do it? There's even a fun minigame for the winner of a full set to get a free item before the next round starts. You know the more I play these games, the more I question how did Super R miss some of these things to add back. The only real issue I have with battles is for some reason one of the CPUs just doesn't work, he just stood still most of the time.

The game graphically looks pretty nice and they even gave Bomberman a new look compared to the last two games, I like it a lot. There's nothing too much to say here, it's just pretty good. The music is about what you usually here for a Bomberman game of this era but I will give credit that the versions of these songs sound amazing, especially the World 2 theme. There's also no framerate issues which is nice.

This game is my favorite of the Super series so far. I haven't finished 2 and I've never played 5 so maybe 5 could beat it but it is pretty fun regardless. There's a fun single player here and the battle mode is fun like it usually is. This game also oddly got a PAL release so you can even play it in English if you like. Any Super Famicom fans should pick this up if they haven't. Not as good as 94 but it's still pretty damn good.

Some good old Bomberman, it has just enough new items and mechanics to be pretty challenging sometimes (mostly due to enemy placement, I hope that ice spike enemy burns in hell), but that is very fun to experiment too, and you ARE going to experiment because this game requires far more strategy and thinking than one may think. The Louies are also very cute and my main reason to replay this game after years of remembering "that one bomberman with the kangaroos".

Someting of note and that I was very surprised is the game's presentation, the graphics are colorful and very detailed for how catoony they are, at times it looks like some of the best GBA games. And them there's the music, or rather the soundfont, is so very chill and well made, the ost on this game is fantastic, it sounds like something you whould liten to on an old radio during summer vacation.

they added louie in this one!!!!

>> Contras
• Nenhum.

One of my favorites. This game is one of the most challenging out of the Super Bomberman series out of the 5 as the final area and boss can be hard due to RNG.

esse jogo tirou tudo que eu tinha.

Probably my favourite Super Bomberman so far. The five dastardly bombers return with the evil leader Bagura, and you journey across five planets, restoring the spirit picture (or whatever its called) of each.

Visually the game looks more like entries such as tg16 bomberman or bomberman 94, rather than SB1 and 2. I'm a little unsure if I prefer it over 2's visual style, but its still a charming look. Most of the music is reused from previous entries but the versions here sound great.

Gameplay is the usual, although this time around levels are split into 4 sections (of varying lengths) for each planet. You're not required to defeat all enemies but rather unlock doors and gain access to parts of the spirit picture. Once a spirit picture is completed, you gain access to the boss of the planet. I like this format, the levels are fun and it makes it feel more fresh from previous games.

While you don't get individual fights with the five dastards, the big bosses of each planet are still pretty fun. Each one represents the theming of their respective planet, and are challenging in a fun way. The worst part is probably the I-frames taking too long, which is an issue regular enemies also share unfortunately.

This is also the first super game where the Louies debut. They can be found in eggs and each one has a different ability (from jumping, to dashing to kicking bombs or blocks). They're fun and cute :)

The multiplayer game has been made more interesting by having more distinct designs for the different bombers (although how well they represent their country of origin, well, i'll let you be the judge of that).

Overall, it's a pretty fun time, I'd definitely recommend this one.

Very cute, pretty fun Playing together with another person.

In Bomberman '94 the pink kangaroos (called Louies for no reason) had the ability to dance, which wasn't useful at all in the game but was absurdly cute to look at, obviously.

In Super Bomberman 3 they gave them the ability to jump one space, which also makes them adorable while also being the most useful ones in the entire game.

There's no life lesson here or anything, I love both of them equally and so should you.
