Mataria a quien sea por un nuevo Viva Piñata

Please please with the screaming

My beautiful and much beleaguered garden remains unfinished, lost to time. I think of it often.

Viva Pinata is a garden “tycoon simulator” type game (although your goal isn’t to amass money, you need lots to buy things). Your goal is to attract lots of pinata critters, which are based on real animals but with a pinata design and punny names, trying to create a happy environment for them so they are happy to perform a “romance dance” to make babies.

Each pinata has various stages of interactivity in your garden, each with its own requirements. You can’t see the requirements up front for sighting a Pinata, but once you do you’ll spot them roaming the outskirts of your garden. You can check their requirements for visiting (where they’ll wander into your garden) or the main thing you want: the requirements for the pinata becoming a resident in your garden.

Once a Pinata is a resident, they will gain their true colors and you’ll be able to rename them. The next step is romancing, you’ll need two requirements, usually eating something and having a house in your garden (each species has a unique house). You’ll either have to buy produce, grow the right time of flower or have your pinata eat another (of a certain species) to get them in the mood – these pinatas will be your other residents, so don’t grow too attached to some of the initial ones. When a pinata dies – though being attacked by another, or you savagely smashing them open with your shovel – they’ll leave behind some tasty candy, which other pinata can eat or you can sell for money.

Once you’ve done a successful romance with a species, you can buy a romance candy which lets you skip having to do these steps again (although you still need a house). So you won’t have to constantly sacrifice the same pinatas, just different ones as you attract more species.

Viva Pinata is incredibly charming, with lovely graphics and incredibly cute pinata designs. It can be a savage game and there can be some moments when all sorts of things can be going wrong at the same time, so while mostly relaxing, it does have moments of stress.

I love the Banjo games, and I got some mileage out of Conker too, but I could always tell this is actually Rare's best IP.
It even got a cheesy CGI show like Penguins of Madagascar and Back at the Barnyard, so that's how you know it's good.

I must've been a weak kid because this traumatized me

got this in a combo pack with nuts and bolts and this was better

i have never finished this game can you finish it? is there an end game? i need to know omg please

The first game that I finished from the Rare Replay collection. It was a favorite of mine back on the 360 and playing it a second time was just as fun. You run a small plot of land where you raise and breed Piñatas of various animal shapes. There is a whole ecosystem that you must make for certain ones to join you and to breed. Lots of playability and design layout options.

As much as I loved this game growing up, looking back TIP is definitely the better of the two. Still, the charm this game held with my childhood self as I sat there for hours trying to get a Deer will never be forgotten.
Nor will the multiple times I had to ask my parents for a new copy of a disk after wearing out the one in my old xbox. Ah, those were the times.

No thoughts, head empty, only piñatas

Viva Piñata rules. It's a damn shame Rare stopped making these games because I would kill for another one.

I REMEMBER PLAYING THIS WITH MY BROTHER WHEN WE WERE BOTH KIDS!!! I WANNA REPLAY IT SO BAD

I probably just don't get it, but this was really boring to play.

Esse jogo é simplesmente incrivel

For a moment in time ten-year-old me was obsessed...

An absolute sleeper hit.

What on the surface looks like babies first eco-simulator turns into a rapidly complex simulation game about managing your garden, then into a Animal Eugenics Science simulator. Incredibly addicting and very cute!

i dont remember much about this game other than my mum wanted me to try a non violent game and i somehow still made it violent

I'm begging. please make a reboot of this because I loved this game. the excitement I got from seeing that cutscene that I've discovered a new piñata is something I've been chasing after all of these years.

What a fun and inspired game! Takes the whole animal sim type genre in a unique direction.

the spencers to gregory horror show’s hot topic/animal crossing’s boxlunch tbh
