Yo-Kai Watch 3 is the installment that the majority of the fanbase would call the best in the series, though looking at the score I've given it, it's obvious I have some choice words against this game. While bigger than its predecessors in every way, I found the game to be a bit of a cluttered mess as a result. What was impressive in the second game has become overwhelming, like it's content-packed purely for the sake of being content-packed.

My main issue, however, lies in sheer tedium. This might be the most tedious game I have ever played, as many of the chapters have large sections dedicated to complete filler. Key Quests, a welcome addition in the previous game, has gone from a couple fun quests mostly tied to the chapter, to what boils down to actual chores, going from place to place just to pad out playtime.

I think that on a base level, this is a fun game. You now switch between two different characters, one in the old map from the second game, and the other in a brand new, just as big one. The combat has changed for the better, now being grid-based and a lot more interesting. It really is a shame to see such well-designed groundwork pan out this way, and in some ways I understand liking this game more than I do. Would I recommend it? Sure, give it a shot, though I'd advise dropping off it if you're not enjoying chapters 1 to 3, it only gets worse from there.

The best 3DS game and no one can deny this

So this game does a great job of giving a good reason for the game starting from ground zero again with the character moving. The 'Merican Yokai were a fun insight into the stereotypes that Japan associates with the US and the X Files refrences were a nice nod to the millennials playing this children's game; however the second protagonist was a tad annoying which was sad since her mascot yokai called back to the tragic background some yokai had in the first game. Its another example of a game drawing on elements of the first game that were spat on in the sequel to remind the trepitatious why they like this series.

not as good as the prior entries imo

it’s a bit more bloated than 2 but otherwise peak…yokai watch if it was American Dad

someday my british heart will be able to handle america and finish this

No mejor al 2 pero aun asi Peak 3DS

The best of the Yo-Kai Watch series, with so much content I’m literally going to die before I 100% the game. The story was lovely, the characters were incredible once more, and god damn it I wanna make out with Agent X and have The Ghoulfather watch

Nearly perfect game (except Terror Time, all my homies hate Terror Time). You can spend 100+ hours in Blasters and it's an optional side mode. Best monster collector since B2W2, best America parody since Earthbound. So many spontaneous little events, the multiple main character angle works really well and allows the world you get to explore be pretty damn big. Insane number of Yo-kai, revamped battle system, we can go on and on.

Side note, I own the cart. Bought it at launch so I didn't have to take out a loan either. You are all jealous.

I am very disappointed that I can't seem to get hooked by the Yo Kai Watch games. The aesthetic elements of this third installment are charming, gorgeous, and well-polished. The writing is funny and earnest, especially for the female protagonist. I think my biggest issue is that the game basically plays itself. For each item I find, Yo Kai I recruit, or minigame I unlock, I find myself asking "why bother?" Rather than a gameplay loop where each challenge feeds into another, Yo Kai Watch 3 feels more like an open ended collection of activities. There is very little strategic depth and therefore no skill development on my part. It's certainly a beautiful world to relax in (with an insane amount of content), but I need a little bit more game in my game to stay engaged.

I've spent more than 200 hours in this game lol

not as good as 2 shhhhh(replay)

un peu chiant de devoir faire chaque chose en double pour avancer dans chaque histoire

this game is so good i wish america was real

Not only is this one of the best creature-tamer series out there - if not the best - whose entries are packed with content during a time when mainline Pokémon wasn't (and, in all bluntness, still isn't) interested in offering more for players to do than just doing the main story and competing online, but this is easily the best entry in the series. Do play this one any way you're able to!

The greatest game ever conceived!

El RPG perfecto, muchos yokais que conseguir, montones de eventos, una historia decente con una duración considerable. POR FAVOR QUE SAQUEN YA EL 4

Absolute kino right here. You may not agree, but this is what peak monster catching on 3DS looks like.

Yeah, I pirated it because this game goes for extortion level prices online.

What I thought Pokemon was missing was a killer whale Pokemon and a Mark Zuckerberg Pokemon. Luckily this game combined my ideas into one beautiful creature.

This game is insane! The amount of content and Yo-Kai make this game feel neverending in the best way possible. Truly one of the best games on 3DS.

Not as good as 2 physic but better than 1
